On the Current Sino-Japanese Relations

I know Japan quite well. Generally speaking, the average education level and quality of Japanese people are very high, they are serious and responsible in their work, have a strong sense of time and stress credibility. The running time of trams and Shinkansen in Japan is the most punctual in the world. Direct contact with the Japanese, I feel that the Japanese are not as bad as in the previous movies. In the past war years, Japan's invasion of China, North Korea and other Asian countries was real, which brought disasters and the Japanese people suffered greatly. They were retaliated by the American atomic bomb and surrendered unconditionally.

However, after being occupied by the United States after the war, the United States took the lead in making the "New Constitution of Japan" and corrected the original militaristic constitution. The three principles of the new American Constitution are pacifism, respect for human rights and sovereignty belongs to the people. Since then, Japan has completely become a democratic country.

The Constitution says that "pacifism" means that we can no longer invade other countries. However, China, South Korea and other Asian countries that were invaded in those years were very wary and too sensitive to Japan. Because history is the history of the past after all, if Japan wants to invade its neighbors like in the past, it must first amend the current peace constitution. Constitutional amendment requires the approval of the legislature, the Japanese parliament and the Senate and the House of Representatives, which is absolutely impossible for the Japanese parliament to pass.

At that time, at that time, it was a peaceful era. No country in the world wants war, and there will be no belligerents to develop its economy. Only some al-Qaeda want to get back at the United States. Therefore, China and Japan should continue to be as friendly as they were in the 1970s and 1980s, which is beneficial to the development of both countries. At present, the total amount of economic exchanges between China and Japan exceeds that between China and the United States. China needs to develop its economy in a stable environment, and should not undermine friendly relations for any reason to affect the relations between the two countries.

Since the reform and opening up, China has brought dazzling economic development, but it still needs modesty, because China's economy still lags behind advanced countries for decades. Last year, China's GDP surpassed that of Japan, which is a remarkable achievement, but there is still a long way to go. If China's economy really catches up with Japan, China's GDP must reach 13 times that of Japan, because China's population is 13 times that of Japan. It will take about twenty or thirty years' efforts, and China's economic construction needs a stable and friendly domestic and international environment.

President Lee Myung-bak of South Korea is also talking about advocating South Korea-Japan relations with "future-oriented ambitions" because Koreans in the past have always held a grudge against Japan's colonial rule in the past. We should not always look back on the past history, but look forward to the future and open a new relationship between South Korea and Japan that is conducive to economic development. In the future, it is more important than anything to change the past concept and take economic development as the center.

All advanced things must learn from themselves with an open mind in order to develop. China is a big country with a large population, vast land and rich underground resources. But why is the economy of such a big country far behind that of Japan and South Korea, a small country with no underground resources? This problem deserves our deep thought. There are many reasons besides 100 years ago when the corrupt and incompetent Empress Dowager Cixi suppressed the Westernization Movement. Taking history as a mirror, you can look directly at it. We can't let the unfortunate history repeat itself in the future, so we need a strong national economy. To develop the economy, we should learn from the experience of advanced countries with an open mind, get along with these neighboring countries and other countries in the world, develop the economy on the basis of mutual benefit, and realize the goal of "enriching the people and strengthening the country" as soon as possible.
