Thesis: The responsibility of contemporary college students (as long as it is related to ideological and moral cultivation) requires about 1000 words.
Moderator: What is the dialectical relationship between responsibility and conscience? What is the sense of social responsibility of contemporary college students?

Lin Yonghe: Broadly speaking, there are mainly two responsibility, one is moral and the other is legal. Moral understanding is a kind of conscience. I am willing to take responsibility; I am willing to help others; I feel guilty about hurting others. This kind of moral consciousness and moral emotion produces moral behavior. From a specific point of view, responsibility is not only for yourself and your family, but also for society and the country.

Judging from the above examples, contemporary college students have different degrees of social responsibility. Some college students have self-responsibility and family responsibility, some have social responsibility and national responsibility, and some have no basic self-responsibility. But on the whole, the mainstream of contemporary college students is good and positive, and their sense of social responsibility is gradually improving. We compared the sense of responsibility of college students in Hongkong, Taiwan Province and Chinese mainland. Students in Hongkong and Taiwan Province Province care more about their own affairs and less about domestic and international affairs. Mainland students are just the opposite. In other words, college students in Chinese mainland have a stronger sense of social responsibility than those in Hong Kong and Taiwan. From the investigation in recent years, it is found that college students' sense of responsibility is developing in an increasingly realistic and pragmatic direction.

Li Ming: Responsibility is the role obligation that anyone who has the ability to take responsibility should bear in social life, and it is the consequence that he should bear for his bad behavior. As far as society is concerned, everyone has to take responsibility, and responsibility cannot be exempted. Everyone is the subject of rights and responsibilities. In modern society, a responsible subject with cognitive ability and rational behavior ability is bound to be responsible for the behavior of independent choice. Conscience means that responsible individuals are not only aware of their responsibilities, but also take responsibility in a higher moral realm and improve their moral personality. For example, the singer Cong Fei, with her noble sense of social responsibility, gave millions of dollars to the out-of-school children, but she had no money to treat her illness. He touched China and tortured people's conscience.

As far as human responsibility is concerned, it can be divided into six parts, namely: self-responsibility, family responsibility, professional responsibility, responsibility of others, collective responsibility and social responsibility. Responsibility and conscience are inextricably linked. People who don't want to take responsibility must be people who lack conscience; People who lose their conscience are not only morally responsible, but also do harm to society and others.

College students should be the elite to promote the progress of the times. Judging from the present situation, college students' sense of self-responsibility has been obviously enhanced, and they have higher requirements for self-design, self-realization and self-value development. But at the same time, there are also some problems, such as weak sense of family responsibility, confused concept of marriage and love responsibility, vague understanding of professional responsibility, weak sense of cooperation, etc. Generally speaking, the sense of responsibility is improving, but the sense of social responsibility needs to be strengthened.

Yang Junfeng: As for responsibility and conscience, my understanding is that conscience is the most basic bottom line of being a man, and then we can talk about responsibility. A man with a conscience must be responsible for others.

Moderator: Some young people are indifferent to their responsibilities and conscience. Is it related to the general environment of social transformation?

Lin Yonghe: This kind of indifferent, extremely selfish and self-centered people are basically mentally abnormal, accounting for about 16.5% of the total number of young people, including other problems, such as depression and anxiety. Now some college students have many psychological problems. Why do so many college students commit suicide? The psychological quality is too fragile, the sense of responsibility is too indifferent, and he is suicidal under various pressures. Suicide is first and foremost irresponsible to oneself and parents. If a person can't be responsible for his own life, how can he be responsible for others and society?

Li Chunling: I studied in Peking University from 65438 to 0980. At that time, we all had a strong sense of social responsibility. "Every man is responsible for the rise and fall of the world." . Because the society at that time created conditions for us, as long as we were admitted to the university, we would not worry about finding a job after graduation. But it's different now. With the increasingly fierce social competition, college students are facing enormous employment pressure. I can't find a job after graduation, and I can't even bear my own responsibilities, let alone family responsibilities and social responsibilities. Therefore, contemporary college students' pragmatic tendency is enhanced and their sense of social responsibility is weakened, which should be related to the current social environment.

The media has a great responsibility in creating a social environment. Foreign colleagues often tell us that they are very surprised after reading our newspapers and TV programs. Many contents advocate high consumption and luxurious material enjoyment, including advertisements for some daily necessities. Many of the images created by these mass media for young people are successful people, and this kind of success is the kind of person who can make money and make a fortune. People's value is measured by material standards, and universities often invite these successful people to preach, which has a great influence on college students. On the one hand, we hope that college students are people with noble moral sentiments, on the other hand, we should respect celebrities and pursue high income. These two aspects are very contradictory to college students, and this contradiction itself is easy to cause a distortion. Of course, now the media is also strengthening the propaganda of friendship, benevolence and morality, including the reward for the family, the responsibility for love and marriage, and the help for the poor, which will help improve the moral quality of the whole society.

Li Ming: At present, a considerable number of college students are pursuing high consumption and asking their parents for money instead of hearts. They think this is not a shameful thing. This problem is related to family education. Now, from rural areas to cities, there is almost an idea that "no matter how poor you are, you can't have poor children", and you have to send your students to college and go abroad if you lose everything. In the process of cultivating children's growth, it is not the basic condition to cultivate children's sense of responsibility, nor is it the basic goal to improve children's personality. The west says that "no matter how rich you are, you can't make a child rich" and emphasizes independence. Children 18 years old will take responsibility for themselves. It seems that our parents only talk about dedication without asking for anything in return, but in fact, they have harmed their children and made them dilute their sense of responsibility from an early age.

Educating college students to establish a sense of responsibility and conscience is not only the responsibility of families and universities, but also a problem that the whole society must pay attention to. Without honesty, responsibility and conscience, it is impossible to establish a socialist market economy; A country that has lost its responsibility and human conscience can't realize the revival of a socialist modernized country and nation and the happiness of its people. When mankind enters the new century, it is also faced with difficult choices. The emergence of globalization requires human beings to construct a new ethical value system with wisdom and rationality, and responsibility and conscience are still the core and foundation of human new ethics.

Wuyue: There is a new term called "media literacy" education. The purpose of this education is to teach young friends to correctly understand the nature and function of TV media, establish a critical awareness of media information, improve their immunity to bad information, and learn to effectively use mass media to serve their personal growth. When we did a media literacy survey, we found that the key primary schools in Beijing are very different from ordinary primary schools. Students in key primary schools read different information. They think that there is only one criterion for success, that is, to be a manager of the company like Bill Gates and to be very rich. This has a lot to do with our public opinion propaganda. The propaganda of the media makes children mistakenly think that the expectation of society is to make them rich. Therefore, children use this idea to position themselves and guide their actions.

This is not the case in external publicity. Some children play baseball very well, which is a success. Some children work for the community and nursing homes, which is also a success. The idea of cultivating children abroad is to make children become people who serve the society. Perseverance, hard-working spirit and strong sense of responsibility are most appreciated by parents and teachers. China people think that only when they go to college, have a good job and have a bright spot can they become excellent students, while ignoring the most important things-sense of responsibility and ideological and moral quality. At this point, some media should bear considerable responsibility.

Moderator: How should we view the success or failure of school education in enhancing college students' sense of responsibility? How to give full play to the educational function of universities?

Li Chunling: At present, college students' sense of responsibility and conscience has not been formed during their college years. Primary and secondary education is very important. However, our current primary and secondary education is still based on instilling knowledge. Teachers and parents tell their children to study hard, otherwise they will be worthless and have no food in the future. The main education for him is to study hard and get good grades. However, there is a serious lack of education in responsibility and conscience, resulting in a huge personality defect. Therefore, the moral education in the university now is to make up for those courses before the university. Moreover, the moral education in universities is not very successful, and there are still problems of formalism. On the one hand, college students take ideological and political courses mainly to get credits, on the other hand, many ideological and political education has become a single patriotic education. Patriotism education is necessary, but there must also be civic education.

Li Ming: The university stage is an important stage for college students to grow up. It is the stage when they learn, understand and define their social roles, and learn to take responsibility, fulfill their obligations and exercise their rights. In this process, it is a turning point of life growth to promote college students' sound personality, cultivate virtue, enhance their realm and perfect their feelings, and it is a rapid and excessive development period from the germination of self-awareness to the formation of sound personality.

College students are new citizens of the future society. "What kind of people to train and how to train them" is the eternal theme of education. In an era of over-emphasis on individual rights and rampant utilitarianism, universities should strengthen the sense of responsibility education for college students, which is the content of sound personality education and the core of modern civic education.

Undeniably, there are still many problems in college education, humanities education and ideological and political education. Such as the influence of economic and market principles on colleges and universities, and the influence of pragmatism and utilitarianism on education. All these challenges the responsibility education of college students. Cai Yuanpei is quite right: "Educators are also the cause of cultivating personality. It is a mechanical education that is only used to instill knowledge and practical skills, not for ideals, so it should not be used for human beings. " When there is a problem in education, society will naturally ask the question "How can we not learn conscience in universities?". Educators, especially ideological educators, will instinctively say that "education is not everything" or even that "it is all the troubles caused by society". Indeed, the poverty and employment problems of college students are not problems that universities can solve. However, the more under such conditions, the more it is necessary to strengthen the education of college students' sense of responsibility. Otherwise, what is the significance of education? Education cannot solve all problems, but education should be based on the all-round development of society and people. Facing these problems, we should realize the value of education, confirm the responsibility of students, assume the trust of society and realize the ideal of life. China is in a period of profound social transformation, and higher education is also changing. In particular, educators should clarify their responsibilities, explore more ways to adhere to the ideals and spirit of universities, and shoulder the historical mission of cultivating modern citizens under realistic conditions.

Moderator: As a college student, how do you view these phenomena and problems?

Bai Junyi: I think there are three main reasons why college students lack sense of responsibility and conscience: First, there is less and less direct communication between students and society. With the strengthening of China's national strength, the hardware facilities in colleges and universities are becoming more and more perfect, and the problems of students' food, clothing, housing and transportation can be solved in schools. Therefore, students' dependence on off-campus society is greatly reduced.

Second, the communication between students and society is not smooth. Many students realize that the ultimate goal of study is to work, so they hope to integrate into society early and play a certain social role. However, due to their own lack of experience, the social activities they can participate in are very limited in both types and time. I can only engage in tutoring and marketing, but these jobs can't make students fully understand this society, so I can't establish a strong sense of social responsibility.

Third, "subculture" is very popular on campus. Foreign culture and network culture are very popular, and many of them are literary and film works with strong individualism and liberalism. It is true that the liberal and democratic parts of these works of art are worthy of recognition, but long-term contact will inevitably produce some bad ideas, such as attaching too much importance to personal gains and losses and personal feelings, thus ignoring the overall interests. It is this idea that has become one of the important reasons why college students lack social responsibility and conscience.

Wuyue: In fact, we especially envy those who have experienced the baptism of war. They have clear thinking, want to be patriotic, and want to be warm-blooded young people, especially with national pride and pride. I think our generation is very poor. Born after the reform and opening up, they are influenced by both traditional ideas and foreign ideas. They are mentally operated by double thoughts, lack a clear outlook on life, have no "spiritual belief" and feel lost. I have a classmate from the countryside who said that I especially want to do something for my family and society, but I can't find a job and realize my self-worth after graduating from my senior year. How can we realize our social value?

Yang Junfeng: I think that at present, the ideological and political education in universities should not only give college students supplementary courses on moral cultivation and personality improvement, but also correct their mistakes. Because, before entering the university campus, although their ethics are very shallow and naive, they already have it and are very solid. Like high school and junior high school students now, money comes first, followed by falling in love. When they come to university with this idea, they should not only make up lessons, but also correct mistakes.

Moderator: How to reshape college students' sense of responsibility?

Lin Yonghe: How should college students grow up? It should be adult first, then talent, then success. As a contemporary college student, he has become and must become the subject of responsibility, because he already has civil rights and civic awareness, and he must also have a sense of responsibility. We should correctly understand the relationship between rights and responsibilities. Nowadays, college students emphasize more rights and less responsibilities. In fact, rights and responsibilities are mutual. If you have rights, you have obligations, and if you have obligations, you have responsibilities. You can't just enjoy rights without taking responsibility and obligation.

Yang Junfeng: As a college student, we should first correctly understand what success is and what happiness is. What is the standard for judging a person's success in current society? It is money. Many rural children are very upset and are not on the same platform as their rich classmates. He has an MP3 player and a laptop, but I don't. In this case, there will be two situations, one is to become very inferior, and the other is that I have to struggle to get it. But with MP3 and laptop, are you successful? Will you be happy? We should reflect on our standards of success and happiness. What is happiness? It's not how much money you made, but now millionaires commit suicide. Peace and harmony of mind is happiness. What is success? This has nothing to do with becoming a president or a celebrity. After all, it is a minority. The key is to have a healthy body, a perfect personality and a career you love. College students should strengthen and perfect their own personality view. Of course, in real life, this will also encounter many problems. The key lies in how to face and deal with these problems and how to deal with risks and difficulties. This requires profound ideological understanding and strong perseverance.
