Let the matches "dance"

On Sunday, my father and I did a competition dance experiment together.

As my father told me, I brought a basin of water, a box of matches and a bottle of glue.

Dad first took out a match from the matchbox, then coated the matchbox with a thick layer of glue and threw the match into the water. After a while, a miracle happened: I saw matches dancing in the water by themselves. Sometimes it turns several times in the same place, sometimes it waddles forward, and sometimes it waddles backward, just like dancing with an invisible partner.

I didn't expect the match to drop after jumping for a minute.

I said to my father, "It's only been a while!"

Dad smiled: "You impatient ghost! Can't you wait a few more minutes? "

So I waited patiently. After about five minutes, the match really jumped up again! Still dancing happily and rhythmically. However, after a while, it fell down again. But after a few minutes, it can stand up and jump again. After repeated several times, the match never moved again.

"What is this?" I want to know.

Dad said that the match head contains phosphorus, and it will produce a gas when it comes into contact with glue. More and more gas will make matches stand upright; When the gas is emitted, the matches are driven to dance. When the gas is exhausted, the match will not move. After a while, the gas will gather again and the matches will "dance" again.

What an interesting experiment! I will do more experiments and learn more scientific knowledge in the future.
