Engaged in ecological and environmental remote sensing, disaster emergency remote sensing monitoring, hyperspectral/multispectral remote sensing data acquisition and processing, data assimilation simulation, geographic information visualization and other aspects of research. During the Eleventh Five-Year Plan period, he presided over the completion of the National Science and Technology Support Plan and the National 863 Program 1, the National Natural Science Foundation Project 1 and five provincial and ministerial projects. During the Twelfth Five-Year Plan period, he participated in the national science and technology support project "Dynamic Remote Sensing Monitoring and Emergency Management System in Xinjiang and Surrounding Areas" and presided over the Xinjiang Corps aid project "Research and Development of Key Technologies for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control in Hull Basin Based on Small UAV". Before the 11th Five-Year Plan, he presided over, participated in and completed 8 national, provincial and ministerial scientific research projects. In recent five years, innovative research work has been carried out in the fields of multi-platform and multi-remote sensing sensor data collaborative inversion of ecological environment parameters, emergency remote sensing monitoring of major natural disasters, fine solar energy resource potential evaluation, acquisition and application of low-altitude remote sensing data, and visualization of various geographic information, and a remote sensing collaborative inversion method of ecological environment variables in arid areas based on multi-source remote sensing data has been established. A building-scale solar radiation potential assessment model and system based on multi-source satellite remote sensing data, a remote sensing inversion model and system for sensitive eco-environmental parameters in arid areas, an emergency remote sensing monitoring and disaster assessment algorithm and system for major natural disasters in Xinjiang, and a multi-geographical variable visualization analysis method and system based on icon are developed. The research results have been published in well-known academic journals at home and abroad, such as Ieee transaction geoscience and remote sensing, isprjournal of photogrammetry and remote sensing, applied research observation and remote sensing of IEEE journals, applied research and geographic information of international journals, China Science: Information Science (English version), Journal of Solar Energy and Journal of Peking University. He has published more than 80 academic papers, including 1 paper in English (SPIE, the second international conference on earth observation of global change, volume number: 747 1), and 2 monographs: Research on regional sustainable development decision support system and remote sensing collaborative inversion and assimilation simulation of ecological environment parameters. 3 invention patent applications, authorization 1, and 7 software works registration. Zhang Xianfeng, male, born in 1967, Ph.D., is currently an associate professor and deputy director of Peking University Institute of Remote Sensing and Geographic Information System. He is currently a member of the Gi4DM Academic Committee of the International Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing Association, a member of the CMSI of the International Cartographic Society, a director (concurrently) of the Spatial Information Engineering Technology Research Center of the Corps, a deputy director (concurrently) of the Xinjiang Corps Sub-center of the National Remote Sensing Center, and a visiting professor at the School of Geography and Environmental Management of the University of Waterloo, Canada.
