The citation rate of our academic papers is low, just like grain rotting in a warehouse, and no one finds it. To improve the quality of academic papers, we should start with improving the citation rate. In my opinion, there are four reasons for the low citation rate of academic papers: first,
It's impetuous wind. Some people write papers just to evaluate their professional titles and get degrees. As long as the papers are published, it doesn't matter whether they are cited or not. Others think that if you quote other people's opinions, there will be no innovation. Many of our papers give people the impression that they can't see his basic work and the work of his peers, and don't know where his "Qinghai-Tibet Plateau" and "Himalayas" are, but you already know that he is "Mount Everest" and a world leader. This is the impetuous wind.
The second is the influence of traditional culture, self-modesty, contempt for literati. A scientist has worked for more than ten years and published at least twenty or thirty papers. He never quotes previous articles when writing his own articles, which he thinks is humiliating.
So I advocate improving the citation rate of academic papers. First, experts who write papers should quote more papers, including other people's papers and their own papers; Second, experts engaged in science and technology management should take measures from all aspects to improve the citation rate and do these two things well. I believe the quality of China's academic papers will be improved gradually.
