What's the difference between car wires and household wires? Can you mix them?
The difference between car wires and household wires;

1, different materials.

Automobile wires, also known as low-voltage wires for road vehicles, are different from ordinary household wires. Ordinary household wires are copper single-core wires with certain hardness.

Automobile wires are all copper multi-core flexible wires, some of which are as thin as hair, and several or even dozens of soft copper wires are wrapped in plastic insulated pipes (PVC), which are soft and not easy to break.

2. The cross-sectional area is different.

Conductor specifications commonly used in automotive wiring harness include conductors with nominal cross-sectional areas of 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5, 4.0, 6.0, etc. , all have allowable load current values, which are suitable for wires of different electrical equipment. The cross-sectional area of household wires is generally fixed.

3. Different voltages

China's household electricity uses 220 volts alternating current, and the withstand voltage standard of conductor insulation sheath is more than twice that of 220 volts; The voltage of automobile electricity is 24 volts DC, which requires much lower withstand voltage of conductor sheath.

It's best not to mix household wires with car wires.
