The human history of Jiucaiping
In Jiucaiping Scenic Spot, Yi Township, Zhu Shi City, and Asri West Scenic Spot, Hezhang County, three or five Yi compatriots living by the mountain formed their own villages, scattered in the foothills. Because of their remoteness, they are seldom influenced by modern civilization. Therefore, many ethnic traditions in the endangered Yi culture have been preserved here like living fossils, forming a unique "Asiri West" culture. Traditional songs and dances of the Yi people, such as wine ceremony songs, Dionysian songs, chime dances, wind ears and Yi torch festival, have become important cultural heritage.

Not far from Jiucaiping Scenic Area, there is a famous coke field. According to China literature, Hezhang Coke is located in Yelang Country. According to Yi literature, Kele (called "Keluo Mao Mu" in Yi language, which means central city) is the capital of Yelang. 1958 Hezhang Leke Site was first excavated, and a large number of cultural relics were unearthed. Premier Zhou Enlai instructed to "strengthen the protection of Leke archaeological relics". In the autumn of 2000, Jiaozuo was excavated again, and its unearthed cultural relics and its "burial with a hat" with national characteristics caused a sensation at home and abroad. It was rated as "Top Ten New Archaeological Discoveries in China in 20001year" and was approved by the State Council as a national key cultural relics protection unit.

Jiucaiping Scenic Area is a combination of alpine grassland, stone forest caves and Yi customs, which is very suitable for a leisure and holiday experience tour with the theme of "climbing the roof of Guizhou, experiencing plateau scenery and tasting Yi culture".
