5. Open the Member Center and finish the operation.
6. Click the "Resource Download" menu to find the portal list of China HowNet. 7. Click on any China HowNet portal and log in to China HowNet. 8. After opening China HowNet, enter a search term in the search box, taking "hydraulic transmission" as an example, and then search for relevant information. 9. The advantages are:
(1) cloud server, with fast download speed. As long as you can surf the Internet, you can use China HowNet for free without running the library;
(2) The discipline classification is complete, and it is not limited by majors. Information of various disciplines can be found, because it is directly downloaded from official website.
(3) Fast download speed. After all, it is a cloud server, which is faster than downloading at school (this is my real experience).
Disadvantages: it costs a few dollars to recharge, but there is no pressure for the average person at all.
If you can really use China HowNet for free, there are only two ways, as follows: (But for most people, neither way has this resource).
1. You can use China HowNet for free in the school library. With documentary evidence, you can go to the electronic reading room to download materials online, log on to China HowNet, and download papers for free at China HowNet.
The advantages are: there is no time limit, and you can download reference papers and other materials at will.
Disadvantages are: (1) need to run the library;
(2) Some highly specialized institutions cannot download materials classified by other majors, and there are restrictions when downloading. For example, when I download materials in the electronic reading room of the library of the medical college of our school, I can find the science and engineering papers on "hydraulics", but I can't download them, so I am prompted to pay when downloading. However, in the electronic reading room of our mechanical college library, when downloading the science and engineering papers on "hydraulics", they are free and can be downloaded at will. So this is the difference.
2. If you are off campus, you can use the school VPN to download data remotely.
The advantage is that you don't have to run the library, which is the same as downloading materials in the school electronic reading room.
The disadvantage is that the network speed is too slow. Other schools. I don't know. Anyway, the VPN in our school is super slow, as slow as several K download speed. If there are other better download methods, this method is not recommended.
