In the first year of Song Jianyan (1 127), Dajingzhai was built, which was one of the thirteen villages in Wenzhou. At the beginning of the Yuan Dynasty, it was changed to Dajingyi, with a patrol inspection department. In the Ming dynasty, the inspection department was abolished and renamed Lingdianyi. In the first year of Kangxi in Qing Dynasty (1662), it was changed to Dajingying, and it was Qianlong for forty-four years (1779), so it was called Dajing County. In the first year of the Republic of China (19 12), it was called Dajing Town. On May 1949, Huangliao County People's Government was established in this town, and Dajing was subordinate to Huangliao County. In June, Huang County was abolished and Dajing returned to Yueqing County. 1949 is Dajing Town, 1956 is Dajing Township, 1958 is Dajing Management Area of Dajing Commune, 1959 is to restore the town system, 1968.

During the Republic of China, agriculture dominated the economy, followed by industry and commerce. After the founding of New China for more than 40 years, it has gradually transformed into the economic center in the north of the county.

During the Five Dynasties, pottery industry appeared in China. In the first year of Tongzhi in Qing Dynasty (1862), Hou Yucun's pottery kiln products were sold to Wenzhou \ Chuzhou area. Machine production began in the late Republic of China, and there were two small rice mills. Brewing, ceramics, metallurgy, ironware, printing and dyeing industries are still dominated by manual operation. After the founding of New China, especially after the 1980s, industries developed rapidly, including casting, hardware, machinery, craft weaving, pottery, bricks and tiles, printing, clothing, brewing, food, ironware, wood products, auto parts, etc., with nearly 3,000 employees and an annual output value of 22.73 million yuan. The main manufacturers are Yueqing Foundry, Jingbei Machinery Parts Factory and Yueqing Metal Products General Factory. At present, there are four craft weaving factories, including County Craft Straw Weaving Factory, Lening Craft Weaving Factory, Town Craft Weaving Factory and Yandangshan Overseas Chinese Craft Weaving Factory, and their products are sold to more than 10 countries and regions. Dajing wine produced by Yandangshan Winery in this county is a traditional brand-name product. 1990, the total output value of rural industry is 1609 yuan.
