What is HowNet used for?
It is used to consult, download and publish academic literature, and also to check the repetition of papers.

HowNet is the abbreviation of China HowNet. It is based on the concept of national knowledge infrastructure proposed by the World Bank 1998. It was initiated by Tsinghua University and Tsinghua Tongfang and was established in June 1999. The English abbreviation is CNKI. The purpose of this project is to realize the information construction project aiming at the dissemination, enjoyment and value-added utilization of knowledge resources in the whole society. After years of development, it has become the largest digital library of China national knowledge infrastructure in the world.

First of all, HowNet can be used to search, consult and download relevant periodicals, master's degree and other documents, and provide corresponding references for us to write graduation papers and periodical papers. Moreover, according to the different databases purchased, the number and types of documents available at home and abroad will be different. At the same time, HowNet can also publish corresponding journals, which is convenient for contributors to check the impact factors and journal level of different journals.

Secondly, in addition to consulting and downloading documents, HowNet also plays an important role in checking the duplicate of the papers we have written, which is what we often say to detect the copy rate of the papers. Because there are many documents that can be covered in the database of HowNet, it is also the first choice platform recommended by many universities for duplicate checking. Of course, different schools will choose different duplicate checking platforms.

Finally, we should also understand that different schools can choose their own duplicate checking platforms when checking duplicates. For example, in addition to HowNet, there are mainstream duplicate checking platforms such as VIP and Wanfang, and there will be some other new duplicate checking platforms. Although HowNet can consult, download relevant documents and copy papers, providing these services is free only when it is used in the school library.

Because colleges and universities will pay for related database services, students do not need to pay; However, if students are inconvenient to go to the school library because of internship, summer vacation and other reasons, they will have to pay extra when downloading documents and checking duplicates, such as buying corresponding prepaid cards or scanning codes.
