Footnotes are composed of two related parts, including annotation reference marks and their corresponding annotation texts. Users can use Word to automatically number labels or create custom labels. In Word, the way to view the text of footnotes and endnotes is to point the mouse to the annotation reference tag in the document, and the annotation text will appear on the tag.
2. Footnote notes
Only when the ScreenTip check box is selected in the View tab of the Options dialog box can you see footnotes or endnotes on the screen by the above method.
Users can also double-click the annotation reference mark to move the focus directly to the annotation area, so that users can view annotations.
Users can also select the Footnote menu item in the View menu to view the notes. If the document contains both footnotes and endnotes, the View Footnotes dialog box will pop up. Users can select the corresponding options and click OK to view the corresponding comments.
