As a new subject, English is always fresh and full of curiosity when rural students first come into contact with it. This is an important opportunity for teachers to cultivate students' interest in learning. Pupils in lower grades are very curious and like to be exposed to new things. Curiosity about strange languages can stimulate their interest in foreign languages, so how to design the first English class is very important and will affect the whole English teaching effect in the future. According to the characteristics of primary school students, combined with the actual situation in rural areas, I adopted the method of connecting with real life to design classroom teaching. Rural students usually have a narrow knowledge and little contact with things. So I introduce the course in English, which I usually hear the most and say most easily. For example, I use gestures to introduce "Hello, Hello, Yeah", and then I show them some objects marked with simple English, such as "Made in China" on the watch. The potato chips they like to eat are marked "potato chips" The milk you drink is marked "milk" and so on. After finishing this course, let the children in rural areas find that English is close to them and they are eager to learn, and let them meet this subject with a happy mood. At the same time, we should seize the opportunity, make full use of the curiosity of primary school students, and let them find some simple English in their lives and extract it. Such as: common TV, VCD, etc. Through these observations, they realized that English is everywhere, which aroused students' interest and attention in English learning and laid a good foundation for future teaching.
Secondly, there are various teaching methods to create a pleasant learning atmosphere.
1. Make songs smoothly and create a pleasant atmosphere. Use 3-5 minutes before class to warm up the students. Songs can make the classroom atmosphere relaxed and lively, such as the song "Hello" in Unit 1 in the first volume of Grade Three. Songs can be used not only for singing, but also for dancing to make students move and draw their attention back to class from recess. For example, the song Teddy Bear in Unit3, the first volume of Grade Three, can make students stand up, sing and dance, and perform through various parts of their fingers, which can stimulate students' interest in learning. Programming jingles is also a good part of warm-up, such as: "Fangfang, you are great, you think with your head, your mouth is smart, your ears are listening carefully, your nose has a good sense of smell, your eyes are bright, and you praise when you dance." The jingle is not only catchy, easy to remember words, but also can promote the cultivation of their interest.
2. Use the existing rural resources to get out of the classroom.
Although the teaching equipment in rural areas is backward, some modern teaching methods are difficult to implement. But we have our own advantages, that is, rich biological resources. We can move the classroom to a place outside the classroom. Teaching according to the content of the text. Such as: unit6, the second volume of grade five. We can take advantage of sunny weather to take students to places where there are trees and grass, and combine the real situation for teaching. Phrases such as "catching butterflies", "picking leaves" and "watching insects" can make use of existing resources and learn from students' real experience. The environment created in this way not only makes abstract content intuitive, but also breaks through classroom teaching, conforms to the new curriculum standards and makes students' learning process more interesting and effective.
3. Give full play to the initiative characteristics of primary school students for quality education.
Rural students are shy, timid and don't like to talk, especially unfamiliar languages, so the classroom atmosphere is often dull. Students are in a state of passive acceptance, which leads to boredom, lack of interest and unwillingness to continue learning English. For this phenomenon, we can use their active characteristics to promote teaching. For example, unit5, the first volume of the third grade, can learn animal vocabulary with actions: "Dogs bark, ducks quack, cats meow." This will make abstract words more intuitive and apply students' active characteristics to learning, which is more interesting and effective.
4. Integrate multi-disciplinary advantages and develop diversified English teaching models.
As an English teacher in primary schools, we should learn from others and learn the strengths of music, sports, art and other disciplines. These subjects are intuitive and interesting, which can make the English learning process no longer boring and make students have a strong interest. Primary school students are very enthusiastic about sports activities, and teachers can let students express their feelings in English. When students are running, the rest of the students can use "Come on! Come on! " Come and cheer for the students. Art can also improve students' learning fun and strong interest in learning. For example, when taking My Body, the teacher can let students learn while painting, and learn all parts of the body. With pictures, students can understand them more vividly. They can play games with pictures. The instruction given by the teacher is "touching … music can also greatly promote the interest of primary school students". We can use "Happy birthday to you! "The third volume unit6. This song is to learn some other sentences. Good morning ... good afternoon ... good evening ... and so on. We use the change of vocabulary to teach songs, so that students are easier to master and more interested in learning.
