In this study, our group discussed the cultural origin of surnames in China and the promotion of surnames culture. ? The purpose of this study is to strengthen teenagers' understanding of surname culture in China. We want to make more teenagers realize the importance of surname culture through this research study.

Because today's teenagers know pop stars, but they don't know China's traditional culture, many traditional arts in China are on the verge of extinction, and there are various problems in teenagers' values. It is imperative to carry forward China's traditional culture. Moreover, in order to get the suggestions and opinions of the majority of young people, this research topic takes the form of questionnaire survey to solicit opinions from the majority of young people.

Only in this way can we understand the teenagers' understanding of surname culture and carry forward Chinese traditional culture better. ? Because culture is an intangible thing, there will be many problems in promoting it to young people? . Even if there are many problems, the members of our group actively participate, so the result is better.

So I will make the research results public:

How did surnames come into being and develop? This is a very interesting subject, involving sociology, history, linguistics, philology, geography, folklore, demography, toponymy and many other social sciences. China's first philological monograph explaining the original form and etymology of square characters is Shuo Wen Jie Zi.

Xu Shen, the author of this book (about 58- 147) explained: "Surnames are born to people. ..... born by surname, born by surname. " In other words, people are born to their mothers, so their surnames are next to women. ? The origin of surnames can be traced back to the matriarchal clan system in primitive human society. Many surnames in ancient China were beside the female characters, indicating that our ancestors had experienced matriarchal clan society.

All surnames intermarry with each other, and intermarriage is prohibited within the clan with the same surname. The child belongs to the mother and takes the mother as the surname. With the development of social productive forces, the matriarchal clan system has changed to the paternal clan system, and the surname has been changed from the father, but the surname has always been used for the female family. In class society, in Xia, Shang and Zhou dynasties, surnames were divided into two parts, which were called surnames by aristocratic men and surnames by aristocratic women.

Noble men use surnames to distinguish between nobles and nobles, aristocratic women use surnames to avoid intermarriage, and civilians and slaves have no surnames, only names. During the Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasties, the Emperor of Heaven often gave a fief to a noble who had made contributions. These nobles often take the name of the fief as their surname, so a nobleman had multiple names during the Warring States period.

However, the surname cannot be changed, and the surname can be changed. For example, there are officials in the state of Jin who record aristocratic surnames, and even monarchs often take fiefs as their surnames. Later, with the loss of the authority of the Zhou Emperor and the disintegration of the patriarchal clan system, surnames gradually merged into one, and in the Han and Wei Dynasties, ordinary people also had surnames.
