Are there any small papers that need to be published urgently?
In today's science class, we will try to make a timing tool-water clock. "What is a water clock? How to keep time? Why use water to record time? " A series of questions suddenly appeared in my mind. Considering this, we can't wait to integrate into the world of science. After reading popular science books, extracurricular books and computers, I got some knowledge about water clocks: water clocks are also called "carved leaks" and "leaky pots" in China. According to the principle of isochronism, there are two ways to record the dripping time. One is to use a special container to record the time of water leakage (drainage type), and the other is a container with no opening at the bottom to record how long it takes to fill with water (receiving type). China's water clock is first of all a drainage type, and later it is a combination of drainage type and water receiving type or both. We are going to do the experiment of water clock now. We have prepared a plastic bottle. First, we cut off the bottom of the plastic bottle and drill a hole in the bottle cap. The size of the hole should be controlled. At first, we drilled a smaller hole and gradually enlarged the hole according to the actual situation. In the experiment, we filled the water and began to record a minute. After repeated experiments, it was found that the dripping speed was very fast at first, and then it slowed down. Why is this? I thought and thought, and came up with an explanation: the water just poured in will produce pressure, so it will be quick. I'm glad I got the answer But another question has followed: how can we avoid this problem? After some discussion, we found a good tool-the regulator used to adjust the speed! We installed a regulator at the bottle mouth. All right! A water clock is done! Finally, with our unremitting efforts, an accurate water clock was born! This experience allows us to swim in the ocean of science and soar in the sky of science! This is really an interesting experience!
