How to train eighth-grade students to be the best themselves?
This is my concluding speech at the 8th National Forum for the Development of Modern School Culture in yingze district, Taiyuan, Shanxi, which is reproduced here in full to thank the leaders of yingze district Municipal Government and Education Bureau for their strong support, the principals of yingze district for their dedication and the enthusiastic participation of friends from all over the country.

Leaders, principals and friends, I am always happy at this time, especially this year. Because the 8th Forum on Modern School Culture Development is hard-won, but it is particularly wonderful.

The so-called hard-won, first, everyone is already an influential school principal, busy with official duties, involuntarily; Second, there are stricter regulations and approval procedures for principals to go out this year. So we can be together, which shows that we cherish friendship, cherish fate and love education and career.

The so-called particularly wonderful, first, refers to: the forum content is wonderful, including on-site learning and observation; Oral and written statements; Li Zhencun's report and comments. Second, it refers to the wonderful form of the forum, including the post of the host; Wisdom and agility in speaking and commenting; Field observation and discussion complement each other. It can be said that it is a concentrated display of the principals' elegance. Therefore, it is no exaggeration to say that this is a wonderful forum, a creative forum and a fruitful forum.

Because every forum has to make a summary, so I listen to it with special concentration and watch it with special people. Listen, Look and Think: What is the main experience of the forum around "Let students do their best"? What are the basic characteristics of the forum? What deep thinking did the forum trigger? I wonder if I can answer this question: the main experience that the forum has dedicated to us is: three-dimensional integration, that is, three-dimensional integration; The basic characteristics of the forum are: three points and one line, that is, three main points, running through a main line; The deep thinking triggered by the forum is: think twice, that is, think twice. Below I will start from these three aspects and talk about my own gains and experiences.

First, the main experience that the forum has dedicated to us is three-dimensional integration.

In other words, "let students be the best themselves" should be composed of "three dimensions, combined into a whole". These three dimensions: first, from curriculum, classroom to extracurricular (various activities); Second, from macro, meso to micro; The third is from principals, teachers to parents. The whole of a school education composed of these three dimensions is systematic, and the core of this system is "let students do their best".

I realize that this is a new understanding and interpretation of the construction of modern school culture, and it is a great inspiration and harvest of this forum.

First, let's look at the first dimension.

1. From course, classroom to extracurricular.

"Let students do their best" should have a solid carrier. The main carriers of school education are curriculum, classroom and extracurricular activities. Therefore, it is also the most talked about by the principals in this forum. We need the linkage of the three courses, optimize the combination and go hand in hand. The course here refers to the course in a narrow sense, otherwise the three courses will not be at the same level. )

(1) Curriculum setting-Construct diversified courses so that students can do their best.

"Let students do their best" Our first thought is to build corresponding courses. Because, we all know: what kind of education? What kind of people are trained? What kind of courses will be offered? In other words, curriculum construction must be guided by educational ideas and pursued by training objectives. In other words, educational ideas and training objectives must be supported and realized through courses.

Judging from the speeches at the forum, principals are not only making curriculum decisions and planning; Organization and implementation of courses; Or the management and evaluation of courses, all have beyond the general views and experiences.

The concept and practice of "I am the master of my course" put forward by the headmaster of Beijing Yuquan Primary School fully embodies the students' development view and curriculum view. The "Top Ten Interesting Courses" offered by their school all come from children's choice of more than 50 interesting courses offered by the school.

According to Gardner's theory of multiple intelligences, President Wang Jinhua of Luo Yang New Town Experimental School offered a variety of courses to cultivate students' interests and specialties in all directions.

The experience of many principals tells us: first, school-based curriculum should come from and serve students; Second, school-based curriculum should give children full choice. The former is the premise and the latter is the key. Because, not starting from the needs of students, there is no independent choice of students to "let students do their best", which can only be empty talk. Our headmaster knows this well.

If there is a third requirement for curriculum construction, that is, according to the needs of children's development, starting from the school's training objectives and practical possibilities, through the combination of upper and lower, the characteristics of school curriculum will be gradually formed, so as to move from characteristic curriculum to characteristic school.

In his speech, Shi Jun, the principal of Sunshine 100 Primary School in Huaiyin District of Jinan City, introduced that under the guidance of the concept of sunshine education, they put forward the requirement of practicing "six childlike innocence skills" in the six-year primary education stage, and set up corresponding courses to carry out orderly education.

In his written speech, President Sharla Cheung of Shanghai Shangwai Jing 'an Foreign Language Primary School proposed that the school curriculum construction should meet four requirements, namely, the curriculum objectives should match the school-running philosophy, the school-running objectives should match the educational objectives, and the school-running characteristics should match.

As Sun Xiaoqing, the headmaster of Qingnian Road Primary School in Taiyuan, said: Excellent students are not cultivated by some kind of "educational model", but stand out in a balanced soil. To this end, they offer various courses for students, so that students can thrive in a balanced soil.

I have summed up three sentences and six "yes" from my own and several principals' curriculum construction practice, that is, "there is a root and a soul, there is progress in the class, and it is colorful". The so-called roots and souls are based on the reality of the school and guided by ideas; The so-called "having classes" means actually offering each class, which can be vertically orderly and horizontally connected; The so-called vividness is not only the full participation and independent choice, but also the follow-up evaluation, achievement and actual effect display.

Such courses pay attention to the life growth of every student. Curriculum is no longer a task, but a world full of color and agility; Courses to explore more unknowns for children; Curriculum, let us discover the energy contained in each child. At the same time, colorful courses make the school full of vitality, return to the origin of education at a higher level and think about the value of educating people.

(2) Classroom-create diversified classrooms so that students can do their best.

Classroom is the main channel for educating people, and it must also be the main channel for curriculum implementation. In my opinion, the classroom is still a fulcrum to incite the overall development of the school. Philosophers once said: Give me a fulcrum and I can pry up the earth. The fulcrum that can incite the development of the whole school is the classroom, because the classroom involves all aspects of school work. So many principals in the forum talked about the classroom. But the classroom is a sensitive and complicated field. It is not easy to make our classroom a stage for "students to be the best themselves".

At present, the classroom reform is vigorous, and this idea and that idea are endless; I've seen too much of this model and that model. There are many names of classrooms alone. Such as: effective classroom, efficient classroom, high-quality classroom, excellent classroom, student-oriented classroom, creative classroom, heartbeat classroom, life classroom, flip classroom, and so on. But I think the classroom is still a classroom after all. As we often say: the mountain is a mountain at first, then it is not a mountain, and finally it is a mountain. After some reform, we should look at the classroom or the classroom. No wonder there are more and more voices: the classroom should return to the original essence and the origin of education. The principals of this forum have expressed a lot of insights about the classroom or the classroom level.

Principal Shen Weidong of Zhou Pu No.3 Primary School in Pudong said: Classroom teaching: in terms of learning content, it is necessary to optimize and integrate, so that students can study moderately; In the way of learning, we should experience activities and let students learn actively; In learning objectives, we should pay attention to process methods and emotional state.
