The so-called outline, whether writing a novel, writing other types of articles, or writing a plan, is really important. Setting the theme of the article is like setting a big goal and direction, guiding us to serve all the materials and reasons for this big theme and direction. The outline is like a blueprint and road map, which helps us to show the theme we want to express in words more logically and accurately.
Einstein said: If you give me 1 hour to answer a question that determines my life and death, I will spend 55 minutes to find out what this question is really asking. Once you know exactly what it is asking, the remaining five minutes are enough to answer this question.
Many times, the quality of our articles is not high. It is very important that we don't know or think about what we want to say, express, tell stories, write novels and articles. Teacher Wu Jie said: Draw the outline of the fourth step of the novel and write the background of the times. This background should be positive and positive. On the one hand, from the market point of view, it is easier to get publishing opportunities for themes that meet the requirements of positive, upward and positive energy. On the other hand, anchoring a positive, upward and positive energy theme will anchor a goal for the whole story, novel and article.
It is important to think about why you want to write an article, why you want to write an article on this theme, and why you want to express it with this theme. Only when the writer clearly thinks about this problem and clearly anchors the goal will each word he writes next become more meaningful.
Through the outline, we can think and analyze calmly first, and record the theme we want to write and the meaning we want to give to the article.
As for the outline, the primary school Chinese teacher taught us to have an outline before writing a composition. However, many times, we will forget this action of sharpening the knife and cutting wood by mistake. I often see the topic I want to write, think about it and start writing. Sometimes you will encounter digression and digression when writing, and the application and reasoning of some examples will be biased from another angle.
To avoid this problem, a simple outline may be a good solution. Usually when I write an article, or write a report or plan, I will first think about how to express the theme I want to express in several parts, or how to prove or express my point clearly in several aspects.
Generally speaking, I will think of several subheadings, write whatever I can think of, and modify it in further thinking. I usually use "syllogism" to express my views, that is, I use three small views and three small aspects to form the main part of the article. It can be progressive at three points, at three angles and at three levels. This is not to pursue a certain form, but according to the viewpoint in the book "Three Major Events on Three Points", whether from the perspective of cognitive science, our traditional feelings or structure, the "three points" theory is a good choice, which is not only conducive to people's memory and understanding, but also shows the advantages of clear logic and simple structure.
So usually, if I want to express a theme, I will try to explain it from three aspects. It's as if to achieve a big goal, we should first break it down into three small goals, or divide the journey into three sections on the way to the goal, so as not to go astray and make the process to the goal clearer and more relaxed.
Today, on the 132 day of continuous writing, when I look back at the articles I wrote before, I often feel that the articles with three subheadings as the outline were written after careful consideration. Usually, an article without an outline presents a more rigorous structure and strict logic, which not only makes it easier for me to write, but also makes it easier for readers to understand.
The same is true of daily writing. If you want to write a novel with larger volume and more complicated characters, you can't do without an outline. Whether you write an outline first or according to your own feelings, if you can't write any more, then outline and guide yourself to complete the whole work. Teachers without precepts are very encouraging novelists to make an outline.
I remember when I used to learn mobile phone photography, the teacher also asked students to write down a photo plan before shooting: what to shoot, what composition to use, what angle to use, what light to use ... And the works taken by students who usually seriously think about the shooting plan will not be too bad. Without a good idea, they will just click on it, and the level of the works presented will often fluctuate greatly.
For beginners, in the initial stage, writing a plan or making an outline are all steps that cannot be lazy and omitted.
The added value of making an outline before writing is that it can enhance our logical ability.
Logical ability can be said to be a very important ability. Improving logical ability is not only beneficial to writing, but also of great significance to everything we do. Whether you want to finish a task or do something, whether you want to communicate with others or quarrel with others, people with strong logic will never lose.
An outline can help us improve our logic when writing. As mentioned above, "3" is a magical number, which can not only present a stable structure, but also be easy for people to understand and remember, and it is also a clear embodiment of logic. Whether it's total score or three-level progression, whether it's three different angles or three different solutions.
When we can look at a problem from three different angles and analyze it from three different aspects, we can see that there are three levels of the problem: long-term training, poor logical ability, thinking ability and problem analysis ability.
Just like when writing this course, the first few words are what you think. But when I was writing, I found that I couldn't. Since it is a repetition of the course "Methods and Skills of Writing an Outline of Novels", of course, I should make an outline when writing. Otherwise, what is the correct way to open learning "learning-reflection-creation"?
So, I forced myself to think, and I want to make a reply from three aspects. It doesn't matter if I can't think of three at once. When I think of one aspect, I will write a subtitle, and when I think of the second point, I will write a second title. And almost as usual, as long as there is a beginning, the ideas behind will slowly open up.
After writing three subheadings: "Careful thinking is more important than blind action", "Make an outline and achieve the goal according to the diagram" and "Train logical power with the outline", the skeleton of the whole article will be set up. The rest is expressed under the guidance of three subheadings.
After writing the first two or three hundred words, I feel that the word 1000 is still far away. But I made an outline and wrote a subtitle, and it was much smoother to write, and I easily wrote more than 2,000 words.
I am grateful for the reminder and inspiration given to me by Wu Jie's novel class: To make an outline is always a sharpener and a woodcutter.
