Practical ability is an important requirement for the cultivation of professional graduate students. Aiming at the problem of insufficient practical ability in the training of control engineering graduate students, this paper puts forward the construction of practical ability training system for control engineering graduate students, including building a scientific and reasonable training scheme, expanding the selection of tutors and building a practical teaching platform inside and outside the school. These three links are closely related and complement each other, and through the functions of these three links, the practical ability of graduate students majoring in control engineering can be improved.

In 2009, the Ministry of Education proposed to strengthen the training of applied talents. In the same year, colleges and universities began to recruit full-time professional master students. The orientation of professional degree graduates requires students to have more practical ability. The cultivation of control engineering postgraduates is an important part of postgraduate cultivation, and the core of cultivating talents is to improve students' practical ability. However, there are still some problems in the actual training process in many colleges and universities. Based on the analysis of the current situation, this paper puts forward the construction of practical ability training system for master students majoring in control engineering.
Analysis on 1 Cultivation of Practical Ability of Control Engineering Postgraduates
The Standard for Professional Degree in Control Engineering defines the training objectives of graduate students in this field from four aspects: knowledge, skills, ability and quality. [1] (1) Knowledge requires students to master the basic knowledge in the field of control engineering and related knowledge aimed at specific application levels; (2) In terms of skills, it is emphasized that students should have the skills of using relevant R&D tools, skillfully using foreign languages and obtaining relevant literature at home and abroad. (3) Ability requires students to have the ability to use advanced technical methods and modern technical means in this field; (4) Quality requires students to pay attention to engineering research, development and application in this field and have strong practical ability. In other words, on the basis of mastering the basic knowledge, we should emphasize the training of engineering practice and fully carry out high-quality professional practice oriented to the industry in order to enhance the employment ability of professional graduates.
At present, although many universities in China have enrolled master students majoring in control engineering, the practical ability of students in the real training process is still unsatisfactory. The main problems here are as follows: [2-5] (1) Influenced by the long-term training mode of academic postgraduate students, many universities still follow their curriculum system and pay insufficient attention to practical links; (2) Some colleges and universities don't know the concept of "practice" in place, which leads to the setting of "practice" course in the curriculum system, but the content is relatively lacking and formalized, which leads to unsatisfactory practice effect; (3) Some colleges and universities have established practice centers, but they lack tutors with professional background and rich practical experience, which leads to the disconnection between the setting of practice links and the real needs of social applications, and the students' practical ability cannot be further improved; (4) Although some universities and enterprises have established collaborative practice teaching platforms to let students participate in some practical work in enterprises, many of them are engaged in some basic or auxiliary work, and few can really cultivate students' practical ability.
2. Construction of practical ability training system for master students majoring in control engineering
The cultivation of practical ability of professional graduate students is a systematic project. In view of the problems existing in the training of control engineering graduate students, the author thinks that the construction of its training system should include: building a scientific and reasonable training scheme, expanding the choice of tutors, and building a practical teaching platform inside and outside the school.
2. 1 Building a scientific and reasonable cultural program
First of all, when constructing the curriculum system, we must have a clear orientation. Schools should be able to analyze the demand of the job market in real time and accurately, proceed from the actual demand of the industry for control engineering talents, and aim at cultivating advanced applied talents with outstanding practical ability. In the setting of theoretical courses, we should closely combine the characteristics of the school and the industry background. In addition to the most basic professional theoretical courses, it is also necessary to offer some theoretical courses related to school characteristics and industry background. For graduate students majoring in control engineering, graduates should not only master the basic control theory and programming language, but also have a deeper understanding of some engineering problems in automation and power-related fields in their respective industries.
Then, combined with the application background of the industry, the practical course is carefully designed and planned. It is necessary to consider the difficulty of practice and carry out different practical courses at different stages step by step, such as setting up basic experimental courses at the beginning of course learning, so that students can quickly grasp the relevant knowledge points of the course; After learning all the knowledge points of related courses, some professional experimental courses can be set up to enable students to integrate the relevant knowledge points of different courses and cultivate their ability to analyze and solve problems; The practical course of school-enterprise cooperation further enables students to apply what they have learned and to analyze and solve problems in actual production activities. In the training plan, it is necessary to incorporate the requirements and contents of professional graduate students' participation in practical courses into the overall teaching plan for postgraduate training, set practical courses as compulsory courses, and strictly stipulate the hours and credits to ensure that practical courses are carried out purposefully, planned and targeted. Practical courses should emphasize the cultivation of students' practical ability and the ability to think and solve problems independently.
2.2 Expand the choice of instructors.
Many tutors are engaged in academic research, and most of them lack industry background and engineering practice ability, which may lead them to fail to achieve the goal of practical teaching. Master of Control Engineering is a major that requires high practical ability, and needs a tutor with strong practical ability to guide graduate students' practice. Therefore, on the issue of tutor selection, in addition to the professional tutors of the school, it is necessary to increase the enterprise tutors with industry background.
For school tutors, it is necessary to strengthen the cultivation of tutors, create opportunities for tutors, especially young tutors, to practice in enterprises, let them integrate theory with practice in real production environment, and strengthen their industry background and practical ability, so as to guide graduate students of experimental and practical courses in schools to be closer to production reality and enrich teaching with some real cases.
At the same time, colleges and universities should hire some senior engineering talents in the industry as enterprise mentors for students. Enterprise tutors mainly give guidance to graduate students when they enter the enterprise internship. They should also provide useful training suggestions in the process of formulating training programs, and strive to provide graduate students with opportunities for enterprise practice, so that graduate students can realize the close combination of theory and practical operation, truly apply what they have learned and improve their practical ability.
2.3 Building a practical teaching platform inside and outside the school
The construction of practice platform can be said to be one of the best ways to cultivate students' practical ability. Generally speaking, practical teaching platforms can be divided into two categories: on-campus practical teaching platforms and school-enterprise cooperation practical teaching platforms.
In-school practical teaching platform refers to the place located in the school, which simulates the real production environment and can provide some help for the cultivation of practical ability of professional degree graduates. It is an important link to link the knowledge in class with enterprise practice. The construction of campus practice teaching platform is divided into two parts: hardware and software. The hardware part refers to the construction of postgraduate experimental resources, which will affect the effect of experimental innovation activities in the school. The software part refers to the postgraduate innovation projects and various postgraduate innovation activities based on the hardware part, which will affect the development and growth of the practical teaching platform in the school. For the major of control engineering, the practical teaching platform on campus can include computer network, control engineering, automation and other directions, which is conducive to cultivating the ability of graduate students to comprehensively use multidisciplinary knowledge points to analyze and solve problems.
The practice teaching platform of school-enterprise cooperation refers to the off-campus practice place jointly built by school and enterprise, which may be in the enterprise or in the real production environment. To create opportunities for graduate students to really participate in the R&D and production process of some projects, graduate students can go deep into the front line of the project and do some practical work by themselves. In this process, they can apply their theoretical knowledge and practical experience to the real environment, and then give guidance through industry instructors with rich practical experience, or exchange learning with staff with practical experience to quickly cultivate their practical ability.
