I am very proud, because I live in Beijing, the capital of China. Beijing won the right to host the 2008 Olympic Games, and everyone in China was very excited. Green Olympics is one of the themes of our Olympic Games. Nowadays, environmental problems are becoming more and more serious, and it is urgent to protect the environment. Each of us should contribute to this.
I am a member of "Roots and Buds" group in Wen Hui Middle School. "Roots and Buds" is an environmental and humanitarian education project for young people all over the world by Jane Goodall Research Association. In order to welcome the Olympic Games, our "Roots and Shoots" group organized many activities related to environmental protection. Just in April, we participated in an activity called "Recycling Dragon: Consumables Recycling". This activity was initiated by Global Village, Roots and Shoots, Friends of Nature and Hewlett-Packard Company. Consumables recycling plan aims to reduce the impact of landfill and landfill on the environment, and provide users with a simple and environmentally friendly method to recycle used printer ink cartridges and toner cartridges.
This activity has a great response among students because it is closely related to us. Students from all over the school actively participated, and we learned that consumables are difficult to degrade if they are abandoned or buried in the environment, and some will also cause pollution to the environment. In fact, many ingredients can be recycled, such as plastic, toner, foam, sponge, toner and various metals. These raw materials can be processed into new products, such as e-wood, recycled plastics, park benches, stationery and so on. Through the recycling of consumables, we can reduce the stacked or buried consumables, thus reducing the pollution to the environment. In a short month, my classmates and I collected more than 100 ink cartridges. Students who don't use consumables are also actively doing publicity work. It can be seen that the concept of environmental protection has penetrated into the hearts of students, and everyone is doing their part to protect the environment and hold a green Olympics.
As Dr. jane goodall said: "Everyone is important; Everyone can play a role; Everyone can make a difference. " I will try my best to spread these ideas to people around me.
