First, what is unification? According to Modern Chinese Dictionary, unification has many meanings, such as "consistency and completeness". Here, the unified evening self-study for middle school students obviously refers to "consistency", that is, bringing students together and making consistent study arrangements.
Second, what is evening self-study? As the name implies, it is to use part of the evening to let students study independently, either to review what they learned that day and do some necessary exercises to consolidate their knowledge, or to preview the course content to be studied the next day and make full preparations for the later study.
Obviously, middle school students' self-study at night is of great benefit to our study. There are three reasons:
First, the unity of evening self-study and evening self-study will help us to arrange our time scientifically and reasonably, and promote the improvement of learning efficiency and quality. Evening self-study is generally arranged by the school according to the course situation of the day, and teachers of various disciplines take turns to coach and answer questions. This helps us make full use of the limited time to digest and absorb the knowledge we learned that day. Didn't Confucius say that? "Learning without thinking is useless, thinking without learning is dangerous". No matter "learning" or "thinking", it takes time and energy. Middle school students have poor self-control ability and don't study at night. Many playful students forget to do their homework, let alone actively "learn" and "think". And unified evening self-study, "learning" and "thinking" will be guaranteed in time. Coupled with the guidance of teachers, we can get twice the result with half the effort and make our daily study easier.
Second, unified self-study is conducive to reducing the burden on parents, giving full play to the educational function of schools and encouraging students to develop good behavior habits. Nowadays, many parents are eager to "look forward to the success of their children" and "look forward to the success of their daughters", but they are too busy with work and livelihood to supervise their children. Some parents are limited by their own cultural knowledge and are powerless to help their children learn. What's more, in rural areas, many parents of left-behind children go out to work to earn money. How can they have time to urge their children to study? Which parent wants to see their children wandering around the street all day, making trouble? Unified evening self-study, with the strict management and restraint of the school and the guidance and education of teachers, not only eliminates the worries of parents, but also reduces the burden of parents in time, energy and even economy. Why not?
Thirdly, the unity of self-study at night can create a good learning atmosphere, help students to communicate and cooperate, enhance the sense of cooperation, cultivate the spirit of cooperation and promote each other's progress. Unified self-study in the evening includes both individual guidance of teachers and collective discussion of students. A good atmosphere can drive those students who have poor study habits and are lazy to actively integrate into their studies and prevent students from wasting their good time because of idleness.
Therefore, we think that the advantages of unified evening self-study for middle school students outweigh the disadvantages.
