Lvliang University, located in Lvliang City, Shanxi Province, is a public full-time ordinary institution of higher learning organized by the people's government of Shanxi Province. It is jointly established by provinces and cities, and was selected as the pilot institution of the "Scientific Work Ability Improvement Plan (100 Million Project)" of the Ministry of Education.

The school was founded in 1978, formerly known as Lvliang College of Shanxi Normal University; 1984 Shanxi provincial people's government approved the establishment of Lvliang teachers college; 1990 The Ministry of Education approved the merger of Lvliang Teachers College and Lvliang Vocational and Technical College under construction to form Lvliang College; On March 20 10, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the school was upgraded to an undergraduate college.
