Mr. Wang is quick to learn and think, reads widely, has a long history of academic activities, and has a broad academic mind. As far as he is concerned, Mr. Wang's main research areas are as follows. Mr. Liao Xudong is a student of Mr. li jinxi. Inheriting and carrying forward the teachings of teachers is one of the directions of Mr. Wang's academic struggle. With the ambition of saving the country and the people, Mr. Li devoted most of his life to the research and promotion of grammar teaching. Teacher Wang respects teachers and attaches great importance to grammar teaching. He has made great efforts and gained a lot. The method of adding lines, also known as marking method, refers to the method of marking various components of a sentence with different line segments and symbols. This method is born out of the "graphic method" in New Chinese Grammar, but it has been greatly improved. 1955 was first introduced in the grammatical analysis of articles co-authored by Mr. Wang and Mr. Zhang Gonggui. In the later Basic Grammar (1979), Grammatical Analysis of Classical Chinese (198 1 year) and Modern Chinese (1979), the method of adding lines has been revised several times and perfected. From component analysis to analytic hierarchy process, to transformation analysis and semantic feature analysis, we can clearly distinguish the evolution track of Mr. Wang in Chinese syntactic analysis. Mr. Liao Xudong is a native of Chu, and his homesickness is hard to give up. 1964, Mr. Wang published "On the Usage of Personal Pronouns in Qu Fu", which was not accepted until he became a big country. Mr. Wang's research on the language of Chu Ci is divided into two stages with 1995 as the boundary: the early stage belongs to grammar research, marked by the study on the grammar of Chu Ci published by 1995; Later, he began to turn to the study of vocabulary. His representative works include reduplicated words, Lian Mian's ci and parallel prose in Li Sao. From the grammatical level to the lexical level, it shows that Mr. Wang intends to study the language of Qu Fu from many angles.

Mr. Wang's Grammar Study of Chu Ci focuses on some commonly used function words and some important sentences in Qu Fu, which is unique in the field of modern Chu Ci research. The combination of function word interpretation and syntactic analysis is the key to the success of Zhu's grammar study of Chu Ci, which has created a new model for the study of Chu Ci. While grasping the systematicness of Qu Fu's language, Mr. Wang closely followed the examples to explore difficult words, avoiding the tendency of using words to create meaning in exegetics, and his unique views were naturally solid and reliable. This book supplements the predecessors' theories and provides great convenience for modern people to correctly interpret and grasp Qu Fu. For example, on the basis of exhaustive investigation, Mr. Wang thinks that the basic grammatical attribute of "Xi" in Qu Fu is modal particles, not so-called multifunctional function words, which clarifies the vague understanding of predecessors. Professor Liuli thinks: "In this sense, the study of the grammar of Chuci is another successful example of exegetical grammar." It is a book that won the second prize for outstanding achievements in philosophy and social sciences in Jiangsu Province with 1997. Bibliography has always been regarded as the gateway to learning. Mr. Wang attaches great importance to the systematic evaluation of linguistic masterpieces and the cultivation of graduate students. In order to provide reliable and important reading documents for graduate students' professional study, Mr. Wang specially compiled A Bibliographic Question and Answer in China, imitating the purpose and style of Zhang Zhidong's Bibliographic Question and Answer in the late Qing Dynasty. This question and answer was first compiled in 1960s and published in 1965, 1982 and 1998 respectively. Every time it is reprinted, Mr. Wang should update the content to keep the questions and answers up to date. Q&A divides the bibliography into eight categories, and the collected works cover a wide range and are representative. It is indeed a must-read or a must-read book for language researchers. In order to facilitate students' selection, Mr. Wang also commented on the key works in a few words, which was quite pertinent and promised to make the finishing point.

Mr. Liao Xudong has always attached importance to foreign language learning and the reference of foreign theories. He studied Russian in his early years and engaged in related translation work. There are many translations, such as "I am a Soviet citizen", "The story of a horse" and "Teaching experience of real people", which are generally limited to novels and curriculum teaching. In his later years, Mr. Wang began to pay attention to the translation and evaluation of the western linguistic masterpiece Grammar Philosophy. Ye's grammar theory is not only widely circulated among western scholars, but also has a far-reaching influence on Chinese grammar. Wang Li's Modern Grammar in China and An Introduction to Grammar in China both introduced Ye's "Three Kinds of Words Theory". In view of the extraordinary position of grammatical philosophy in the history of linguistics, Mr. Lv Shuxiang once asked someone to translate it, but in the end he gave up because there were too many languages quoted in the book. Mr. Wang took the bull by the horns and organized a group of young and middle-aged scholars from Xu to tackle key problems. A few years later, he finally succeeded. It is the successful translation and introduction of this book that has greatly promoted the research and teaching of Chinese grammar, which has contributed greatly to the linguists in China. Lv Shuxiang and other academic predecessors spoke highly of it. The above five aspects only reflect the mainstream level of Mr. Wang's academic research and cannot cover all the contents of Mr. Wang's academic activities. Mr. Wang has a good education in philology. He not only wrote the traditional Chinese character spectrum of commonly used Chinese characters, but also wrote several papers on synonymous coordinate compounds in bronze inscriptions.
