Evaluation of Statistical Source Journals
Since 1980, entrusted by the State Science and Technology Commission, China Institute of Science and Technology Information (hereinafter referred to as China Information Institute) has made an annual statistical analysis of China's papers collected by SCI, EI and ISTP, as well as papers selected for the statistics of China sci-tech journals, and the statistical results have been released to the public as official national statistical data. China sci-tech periodicals selected by CITIC Statistics are referred to as statistical source periodicals or statistical sources. There are about 1200 statistical sources every year, which change every year. The choice of statistical source journals is determined by the balance of disciplines and regions, and the academic level is higher than that of Chinese core journals.

China Institute of Sci-tech Information issues inclusion certificates to journals that have been comprehensively evaluated by a number of academic indicators twice every April or June 5438+ 10. China Institute of Sci-tech Information holds a press conference on the statistical results of China's sci-tech papers to the media at the end of each year (June 5438+065438+ 10 or June 65438+February). June 5438+February 2006 was the 4th Congress 14, at which the statistical results and related information of this year's scientific papers were published. As one of the important contents of this conference, Statistics and Analysis of Scientific Papers in China also published the catalogue of statistical source journals (China Science and Technology Core Journals) of scientific papers in China last year.

China Journal of Statistical Sources of Sci-tech Papers is not a lifelong system, and it is valid for three years. After three years, China Institute of Science and Technology Information will re-evaluate it and follow the principle of "survival of the fittest". Therefore, the academic influence of "statistical source journals" is increasingly accepted by academic institutions and scientific research institutions, and it is regarded as one of the evaluation indicators of the academic level of scientific research papers. There are more than 9,000 periodicals in China (including medical periodicals 1940). By the end of 2006, there were about 1652 journals published as "Statistical Source Journals of Scientific Papers in China", including about 5 19 medical journals.
