Strike while the iron is hot experience sticker
I wrote this experience post because I have given myself a lot of help and pointed out the direction by relying on the experience of my seniors and sisters. Besides, I want to share some of my thoughts with you. My preparation process is not particularly good. If you think it's useful, just have a look. If it doesn't work, skip it. Seek truth from facts and adjust measures to local conditions.
My undergraduate course is 985,265,438+065,438+0, and English and German are the second foreign languages. TEM-4 is good. I have passed three exams (during the postgraduate entrance examination) and Band 4. I think it is necessary to say this, because we must first understand our own strength, and then understand what kind of strength we need to achieve, no matter what others do.
Application major: Translation major, School of English, Beijing Foreign Studies University.
Preliminary results: politics 68, German as a second language 79, translation basis 123, Chinese writing and encyclopedia knowledge 122. The total score is 392, and the professional score is 245, ranking eighth.
Re-examination results: interview 89, written test 77
The total score is 82.3333333, ranking 12.
Key points: MTI of Beijing Foreign Studies University has to take the second foreign language test, and the re-examination results only depend on the professional results (specialized course 1+ specialized course 2).
Please note: please find out which direction, school and major you want to take before entering the exam. I only apply for this major because I like it, so I don't know the enrollment ratio and the difficulty compared with other majors. Official website /html/ of Beijing Foreign Studies University will directly provide enrollment brochures and related information, which is similar every year. You can check it yourself.
First of all, talk about the available resources: first, it must be your classroom teacher. Knowing your background and the major you want to apply for has the most direct experience. Second, the senior students who apply for this major, the experience of experienced people is very important at this time, which can save you a lot of detours. Students around the third place, resource sharing is a win-win situation. Generally, stingy people are unlucky. The fourth network.

Learn when you should, watch the news or play other software when you don't want to, and don't stop. You can also write a hammer note to record your mental journey and encourage yourself by the way. Weibo is fun, but it has too much influence, so it can be uninstalled, and there is a web version available. That's what I did. I don't want to play with ink when I see the web version, so it is very useful. But self-control varies from person to person, as long as everyone is free.
What I want to tell you is that this article is just my personal review experience and experience, which may not be useful. Everyone has his own characteristics. As long as you make good use of your strengths in the postgraduate entrance examination, you will certainly save time, effort and efficiency. You can't talk about heroes by the length of time. Of course, it is best to review for a long time and efficiently. Review for a long time, and believe that your efforts will not be in vain. If you review for a short time, you should believe that your old experience is still there. In short, when you get to the examination room, just do it. Everything you wrote is right.
Let me talk about my preparation process in chronological order. I went in the direction of translation in Shanghai until June 10, and then I really prepared for the review of Beijing translation. So my pre-preparation and post-preparation are very different, but there should be no problem in translation. In my junior year, I began to think about my own direction last semester, and I began to review my own translation slowly when I decided to choose a translator next semester. In March, I began to read Zhuang Yichuan's little green book A Concise Course of English-Chinese Translation in my spare time. By the way, I practiced the translation of Economist and TEM-8, and watched the news every day to accumulate new words. Find out all the real MTI questions that can be found on the Internet and print them out. Later, it was shelved in May and June when there was no time. In July and August, I will continue to read the Little Green Book at school, do TEM-8 reading, read idioms and allusions (all of which are to be tested in Shanghai), and continue to read news economists. I began to review politics in September, and my little grandfather bought whatever he had. 10 German also began to review, and the encyclopedia slowly followed, and then until the final exam. There were many classes during the period, and there was no truancy. I wrote a thesis for one academic year, prepared final exams for several courses, got a teacher qualification certificate and a three-level translation certificate, and had a fight with the teachers in the Political and Educational Affairs Office. Review time is very scattered, usually in classrooms and dormitories, and you can study at will. June 5438+February 65438+July, you officially entered the study room and started a week-long sprint to stimulate your state.
The materials used in the review are as follows:
List of books:
Ideological and Political Education: All the information of Grandpa Xiao and the political outline of the postgraduate entrance examination (very thin notebook)

Specific process:
Politics: Don't start too early, because it's easy to forget. The key to politics lies in multiple-choice questions. In the early stage, read Exquisite and Concise first, and do "1000 Question" while watching. "1000" must be done several times, and pay attention to the wrong questions. It's just that this part is not done well, and the multiple-choice questions are poorly done. I began to watch the Q&A of 5438+February and June, and recited all the answers to Xiao Si's big question on the last night before the exam. It may be necessary to expand the scope of some big questions this year, because Grandpa Xiao guessed too accurately last year, so he looked at other people's real questions. I usually watch more news and care about current events, so it is entertainment. Don't care too much about questions and answers, just write or make up what you know in an orderly way, and pay attention to finding answers from materials.
German as a second foreign language: I studied English as an undergraduate, and German is a second foreign language. It took me two years to be a sophomore and a junior. The textbook I use is blue and orange college German (I, II, III), but it seems that this is not the bibliography designated by the school. At that time, I didn't have time to learn new textbooks, so I carefully recited one or two words and sentence patterns, sorted out all the grammar I learned, and ignored what I didn't learn. Finally, the real question was well done. Beiwai likes to write original questions, even if they are not exactly the same, but the words in them are all similar. I made a single choice, cloze, and translate all the real questions on the Saint Talent, and also found the Chinese-English translation of the real questions from 15 to 16 for the postgraduate entrance examination. I copied them down and sorted out the answers myself. Although the translation is not good, I also focused on remembering several sentence patterns and words. As a result, I just took the four seasons word exam last year. So German is to remember words and sentence patterns well, followed by grammar. We must make good use of the real questions, and it is not too much to recite some questions.
Translation basis: This is one I don't know how to share my experience, because the feeling in the examination room is really bad. The moment I got the paper and saw the entries, I was deceived, and I didn't get half of the entries. Entries should see more of Yao Yang's Weibo. He regularly sends out classified documents with hot words from China Daily and Min Lu. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart. But don't be limited to this, but also pay more attention to some common terms in life, and it is very likely that you will take the exam, that's all. You also need to read the yellow book brochure, the classification is very clear. In short, entries are accumulated, especially those that pop up inadvertently in daily study. I mainly read Zhuang Yichuan's little green book, and I took another notebook to practice. Teacher Li Changshuan only read a little non-literature; Good materials for practice are three tricks, as well as materials for economists. You can also use FT Chinese website articles. In my opinion, we should pay attention to three points when practicing translation: first, don't break, practice a little every day; Second, pay attention to summing up experience and mistakes, and give priority to quality; Third, don't be limited to the translation of a certain style, you can try any type of article. There are also real entries, which must be memorized. Although it is rarely repeated, what if there is a ghost?
Encyclopedia: I didn't do very well in the encyclopedia exam, because the encyclopedia entries were poorly written, and several economic-related entries were subjectively compiled by myself. Encyclopedia review mainly depends on the data of senior sisters bought on Taobao. It is very important to use real questions when preparing entries. At that time, all the real questions from 10 to 16 were copied down and the answers were sorted out by yourself. The most important thing is to expand the relevant entries according to the original entries. For example, if the real topic is Shakespeare, then you should prepare Renaissance, Hamlet, Shakespeare's four tragedies and four comedies, and so on. In short, you should learn to spread them. And pay attention to current political hotspots. The encyclopedia paper was prepared one week before the exam. At that time, I read all kinds of words on the seniors' materials and prepared what materials I could write for each type of article (when I saw the product manual, I told my classmates that I would write my Dr. Li aloe vera gel because I had acne at that time, haha, I also took a look at the product packaging box and really wrote this during the exam); The big composition was not prepared at all. I bought a college version of the composition choir before. I wanted to use my spare time to accumulate material, but I didn't read it at all, so I got stuck. However, what everyone should prepare is to prepare. I really only have so much experience. In short, encyclopedia entries are real and accumulated in peacetime, with a heart that loves gossip and is curious about everything (of course, it refers to legitimate and reasonable things). I really can't help you with your composition.
Participate in the review
The retest line announced on the evening of March 17 this year, the retest time is 25th and 26th, and it is planned to enroll 3 1. Everyone should take the time to review the second interview. This year, the written test has been added. As long as you keep practicing at ordinary times, there is no big problem. Interview and visual translation should focus on preparation. Visual translation mainly adopts red English-Chinese visual translation. Just practice by the book, step by step. Read the speeches of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at ordinary times, and pay more attention to the contents and related news of the two sessions when approaching. Practice whatever you see when you are free and bored. According to my senior sister in previous years, digital interpretation should be prepared because it is likely to appear in visual translation materials. At this time, I can practice with Cocoa English app. Interview questions should be prepared in advance. Although you don't have to memorize it on the spot, at least you have something to say when you are prepared.
This year's interview is first of all visual translation, two minutes of preparation, first Chinese-English translation, about four or five lines, not difficult; 6. It is about the ranking of world universities, about 6-7 sentences, which is not very difficult. As long as you're not always stuck. The interviews with the three teachers were particularly cordial. Someone asked a question: What translation experience do you have? What to prepare for graduation thesis; Advantages and disadvantages of doing professional translation. These can be prepared in advance. Please read more experience posts. I just read all the experience posts in previous years and sorted out 10 questions.
It must be false to say that you are not nervous during the interview, but the teacher will try to make you relax. First, as long as you can express your ideas clearly and let the teacher receive your information, there is no problem. Second, try to keep the conversation comfortable, just like you usually chat with others. Don't make people hate you just because you feel uncomfortable. There are no suggestions for the rest, because it is impossible for Beijing Foreign Studies University to recruit only students of a certain personality. You are you, natural but not casual. Everyone has his own characteristics, as long as he doesn't hate teachers.
In addition to preparing for the exam carefully, you should listen to more listening, watch the news and relax. English learning comes from the accumulation of life. I think that's what the exam of Beijing Foreign Studies University is about. The foundation is not firm, and the ground shakes.
Preparing for the exam is one thing, but playing during the exam is another. As for how to play in the examination room, I believe that the little lovelies must have their own routines and must believe in themselves. Postgraduate entrance examination is a long and testing road, and it is best to have a companion. First of all, you must make a decision according to your heart. If all kinds of external interests make you unable to decide, it depends on which one you want to enter most, no matter how difficult it is, whether you can get in. Once you make a decision to go to Beijing Foreign Studies University, you will not hesitate, and there will definitely be great resistance, but you must persist in being yourself. Take a rest when you are in a bad mood. It doesn't matter. You're already great. Now you are just a little tired. If you are in a bad mood, you will leave. Believe in yourself for a while. Come on, I believe you.
