If you want to do something, you must first believe that "people's ability is infinite", and keep working hard with the strong desire of "success anyway". Kyocera has become a world-class manufacturer from scratch, which strongly proves this point.
Always believe in the infinite possibilities you have and get up the courage to challenge. This spirit is very valuable.
-kazuo inamori
This truth can also be expressed as: "I believe that people's ability is unlimited." Therefore, it can also be said that the term "pursuing the infinite possibilities of human beings" is "everyone has unlimited abilities"
1
Pursuing the infinite possibilities of human beings
Many people will feel bad about themselves. For example, I have often forgotten some things since primary school, and even got a zero because I failed the exam, so it is hard to believe that I have unlimited ability. Many people have this way of thinking. Even so, I still want to emphasize to you: "Please believe that you have unlimited ability."
It seems unrealistic and unreliable for such a person to suddenly believe that "he has unlimited ability" because of my encouragement when he clearly knows that he has no great ability. But I still want to say, don't think too much about the question "Do you have unlimited ability?" I'd rather be "unreliable".
2
Ability, focusing on tempering and upgrading.
The concept of "ability" is not limited to mental quality, but also includes physical quality and so on. Ability can be defined as "the sum of all kinds of abilities that should be possessed in order to survive in society".
For example, in the real society, physical health can also be regarded as an ability. If a person has never had a serious illness, rarely catches a cold, and keeps healthy all the time, then it can be said that "his ability is higher" than that of people who often get sick.
If you are still skeptical about what I call "unlimited ability", then the expression "ability will improve" may be easier to understand. As long as you keep exercising every morning and evening, you can exercise well; As long as you study hard, you can improve your grades.
It can be seen that both health ability, learning ability and other abilities can be developed and improved. If your ability has not improved, it means that you have not exercised. So from now on, try to temper your ability.
"I have unlimited ability. The reason why it has not been promoted is because it has not worked hard to improve its ability before, so it is necessary to work hard from now on. "
This way of thinking is very important.

Bit by bit accumulation+continuous innovation = real improvement.
If we want to create new achievements and achieve new achievements, we must believe that people's abilities are infinite and pursue their infinite possibilities through practice. Only by accumulating in a down-to-earth manner and constantly honing one's ability can one improve and make progress.
In the previous chapter, I have explained the related items in Kyocera's philosophy manual-down-to-earth and perseverance. In other words, you can make unlimited progress in your own ability by accumulating seemingly ordinary efforts every day.
While working hard, we should also "constantly engage in creative work", which is also one of the things I mentioned in my last article. I often emphasize that "tomorrow is better than today, and the day after tomorrow is better than tomorrow. We should always keep the spirit of innovation". This is an indispensable key factor, whether it is to achieve great cause or to temper one's own ability.
In short, we must first firmly believe that "we have unlimited ability", and then accumulate seemingly ordinary efforts every day to maintain the spirit of innovation. In this way, you can successfully hone your ability.

There is a "snail on the tree" like the forward momentum.
Below, I use specific examples to illustrate this concept.
During the economic downturn, entrepreneurs encouraged their business ministers: "At present, our company has few orders, so you should redouble your efforts to win more orders from customers."
The business director will inevitably find various excuses: "How difficult it is to win the order", "How depressed the market environment is now" and "Not only our company, but also our peers are struggling to support it. This is caused by the big environment ... "
In a word, all kinds of rhetoric of the Minister of Commerce are looking for reasons of "impossible".
When entrepreneurs hear such words, they tend to be soft-hearted and feel that "the economic situation is so severe that it is really difficult to win orders." I may be asking a little too much. "
Not only the company's business, entrepreneurs will have similar ideas when talking about the company's development policy.
"If the company has been relying on the existing business, can it continue to develop? Times are constantly changing. Although I inherited this company from my father, I'm afraid it will gradually decline if I stick to my father's old job. Nowadays, newspapers and magazines often mention all kinds of brand-new industries and investment projects. If conditions permit, I also want to participate. But I don't have the corresponding ability, and the company doesn't have the corresponding technology and funds. After all, this can only be a daydream. "
In this way, people will certainly want to give up immediately if they lack the conditions to "pile up into a mountain" in front of them. This practice is not advisable.
To believe that human beings have infinite possibilities, "try first!" What if it succeeds? "We must have such a positive attitude and pursue our own possibilities.
This is easy to say, but it is really difficult to do. Even so, don't give up easily-"this is too difficult for us to do", but find a way-"as long as you work hard step by step, you should be able to do it"
Only in this way can we stimulate the motivation to put it into practice-"give it a try." The initial achievements may be insignificant, but this kind of fighting spirit similar to "snail on the tree" is the driving force for development and progress.
I just want to explain this truth to you through "pursuing the infinite possibilities of human beings".
five
Kyocera philosophy is the source of my success today.
When I was in college, I studied organic chemistry. At that time, I was very interested in petrochemistry, so I devoted myself to learning relevant knowledge. Ceramics belong to the category of crystalline mineralogy in inorganic chemistry, and I especially sneer at the ceramic industry.
In my opinion, it is not qualified as a chemistry subject at all. It is such a person who has a special liking for organic chemistry. Because I couldn't find a job after graduation, I mistakenly entered the ceramic industry. Therefore, I am neither a trained ceramic expert nor an excellent person with skills, but I have a positive attitude. Even though ceramics is not my major, I keep working hard step by step and never relax.
"If I give full play to my knowledge of organic chemistry, I may be able to make a name for myself in the company, but I was asked to study unfamiliar ceramics. No matter how hard I try, there will be no result. " If I had such a negative attitude, I am afraid I wouldn't be here today.
As a result of coincidence, I have to engage in a field that I am not good at, but I am determined to improve and temper my ability and study hard. Don't dwell on the acquired knowledge and achievements, but concentrate on continuous efforts with a positive attitude of "trying to overcome difficulties". Finally, the research started smoothly, and I began to make my mark in the company.
In the process of ceramic research and development, I gradually accumulated experience and mastered knowledge. A few years later, I have established full self-confidence and feel that I am "no less than an expert in any related field in the world", so I put more efforts into research.
Later, I also "marched" into the telecommunications industry unrelated to ceramics, which was a "foolhardy" challenge.
Since the Meiji era, the telecommunications industry has been monopolized by the giant NTT. NTT has a research institute, a large number of experts and researchers, and invested a lot of money in research and development. People will naturally think that it is impossible for a pure ceramic company to try to compete with the industry giants. Other companies were eager to try at first, but then they gave up halfway.
My challenging behavior at that time can be described as "Don Quixote vs. Windmill". In others' eyes, what I did may be stupid "suicide", but I know very well that I didn't give up on myself, but started my career under the belief of "Heaven rewards diligence".
At that time, the theoretical basis that supported me to persist was Kyocera philosophy. It makes me believe that I have unlimited abilities.
At that time, some critics and journalists had made such remarks.
"Kyocera has been able to achieve such achievements and become such an excellent enterprise because it just caught up with the trend of the times."
The heyday of precision ceramics is coming, and I happen to be engaged in this industry. In other words, Kyocera's success is nothing more than catching up with a good opportunity. This is the view of some critics.
But in my opinion, I started the heyday of precision ceramics. I have won awards from the world's major ceramic and material science institutions represented by the United States. I have neither published professional papers nor participated in international societies frequently, but I won the highest prize of the society.
In the middle and late 20th century, under the influence of a man named kazuo inamori, the field of precision ceramics began to attract worldwide attention. As a result, young researchers also participated in it, further expanding the use and prospect of precision ceramics, and then becoming a hot emerging material. I think this is also the reason why I can get good reviews.
For example, at the beginning, no one thought of using ceramic parts in automobile engines. I was the first to put forward this idea and put it into practice, and finally achieved great success. To this end, I won the highest awards from major institutions.
So, I started the upsurge of precision ceramics industry. But some people say that the craze is ahead, and I am just the lucky one who happens to "hitch a ride". For this misleading public opinion, I said to Kyocera employees:
"People outside don't know the truth at all, but we have set off a craze in the precision ceramics industry. Moreover, for this field, we didn't have excellent technical strength at first.
At that time, the only thing we could rely on was our philosophy. Kyocera philosophy is the source of all our achievements. "
In other words, the heart is the root of all things and the seed of "the growth of all things".
At the beginning of the business, although all aspects were still immature, the philosophy system of Kyocera was established, and it was the foundation of life. I believe that the reason why I can make achievements in the field of precision ceramics technology and make Kyocera successful is precisely because I have followed the principles of Kyocera philosophy.
When I founded the Second Power Company, I also used Kyocera philosophy as the only weapon to bravely face the challenges of industry giants. At that time, I once said to the company's cadres:
"I have no knowledge and technology in the field of communication. If people like me can also enter the communication business and successfully command and win in the commercial war, it just proves the correctness of Kyocera's concept, so I want to try this business. "
Can you really achieve such great things by relying solely on Kyocera philosophy? The second electricity is a challenge I made to prove the importance of the mind. At that time, I gambled on my life.
Dianer is my second venture in my fifties. At that time, I had been well integrated into my destiny, and I was definitely not a young entrepreneur. But I firmly believe that this is an opportunity to pursue the infinite possibilities of human beings, which can prove: "As long as you believe in your own ability, you can be invincible."
As mentioned above, by exerting creativity in work and accumulating seemingly ordinary efforts step by step, you can temper and improve your ability. To achieve this, we must have positive enthusiasm and will, instead of blindly and pessimistically thinking that "it may not go well" or "it may fail". We should have an optimistic and cheerful attitude and practice actively.
For example, people who have inherited the family business should not "stand still" and stand still in the existing business, but should have curiosity and new thinking and be full of fun for challenges.
When the Second Electric Power Company was founded, I did not hold the tragic feelings of "a strong man will never return" in the face of the challenge of telecom giants, but faced the competition with an optimistic and cheerful attitude-"With Kyocera philosophy in hand, as long as we keep working hard according to its principles, we will certainly move towards success and glory".
On the other hand, if it is full of pessimism, it is doomed to fail. Therefore, we must have an optimistic and cheerful attitude, which is also an aspect of "pursuing the infinite possibilities of mankind".
