What should I do if my graduate thesis is classified as plagiarism?
1. Has your work been involved in infringement? It is suggested to compare your paper with the original paper involved in the attack and copy it. Copying other people's works as your own is an infringement. The identification of plagiarism is not based on the use of the copied works, nor on whether they are exactly the same, but only on the concrete expression of the contents of the works. Therefore, there are obvious differences in the specific forms of expression between the two works. Generally speaking, plagiarism should not be considered, but there may be problems of reference, quotation and integration in creation, which is allowed in creation and objectively necessary. The essential element of plagiarism is whether the work is original by the author, not copied from others. As the two works are exactly the same, as long as they are created independently, they do not constitute plagiarism. Plagiarism can only be constituted if the works are the same and it can be proved that the authors did not create them independently (and there is a relationship between the authors).

If it is judged that there is obvious plagiarism between the two, give up the defense, otherwise you can argue it out.

Second, for the behavior that can be basically confirmed as infringement, but there are still some ambiguities, we can try to get the understanding of the other side first and strive for reconciliation between the two sides. In addition to the final agreement, the whole reconciliation process should consider leaving no trace, being recorded or reaching a staged mediation opinion.

Third, because of the life events involving graduation thesis, the best way is to suggest private settlement instead of resorting to judicial channels, which will inevitably lead to passivity and should be treated with caution.
