The role of MPF in cell cycle regulation
MPF is a protein kinase, which can phosphorylate various substrate proteins.

A compound formed by cyclin-dependent kinase and cyclin in M-phase cyclin CDK (cyclin-dependent protein kinase). MPF = p 34c DC 2+cyclinB/A(CD C2 = CDK 1)

Diversity of Cyclin -Cdk Complex

Cyclin -Cdk-the engine of cell cycle regulation: different cyclins combine with different Cdk to form different cyclin-CDK; Different cyclins -Cdk are active at different stages and affect different downstream events.

For example, cyclins C, D, E D and E combine with CDK8, CDK4/6 and CDK2 to promote G 1/S conversion;

Cyclin A and CDK2 act on S phase;

Cyclin B/A+CDK 1 (CDC2), G2/M conversion;

G 1 cyclin -Cdk complex phosphorylates Rb protein and regulates cell cycle.

Different MPF regulates different stages of cell cycle.
