Coupling with elastic spider's performance
The elastic element of the quincunx elastic coupling is approximately quincunx. The coupling has the characteristics of compensating the relative deviation of two shafts, damping and buffering, small diameter, simple structure, no need for lubrication, high bearing capacity and convenient maintenance. When replacing, the elastic element needs to move axially. Suitable for connecting coaxial shafts, frequent starting, positive and negative rotation, medium speed, medium torque and other transmission shafts and working parts that require high reliability. It is not suitable for parts that are difficult to center the two shafts after replacing elastic elements with low speed and heavy load and limited axial size. Coupling with elastic spider adopts turning, milling, drawing and other processing methods, and then carries out overall heat treatment to ensure sufficient strength.

Coupling with elastic spider has a good balance performance and is suitable for high-speed applications (the maximum speed can reach 30,000 rpm), but it can't handle large deviations, especially axial deviations. Larger eccentricity and deflection angle will produce greater bearing load than other servo couplings. Another worry is the failure of coupling with elastic spider. Once the plum-blossom elastic gasket is damaged or fails, the torque transmission will not be interrupted, and the metal claws of the two bushings mesh together to continue to transmit torque, which may easily lead to system problems. It is a great advantage of this coupling to choose the appropriate plum blossom elastic gasket material according to the practical application. Different hardness and temperature tolerances allow customers to choose suitable materials to meet the performance standards of practical applications.
