The Institute of Resources and Environmental Information Engineering of Northwestern Polytechnical University, led by Professor Xue Huifeng, was established in 1998. In addition, the Institute also works closely with the expert group of social systems engineering and Beijing Realizer Institute of Social Systems Engineering, and has made great efforts in social system economic construction (material civilization), political construction (political civilization), cultural construction (spiritual civilization), environmental construction (ecological civilization), human security and development (people-oriented civilization), excellent governance in the era of globalization, and systematic thinking of China leaders.
By the end of 2007, the Institute had 3 postdoctoral students, 26 graduated doctors and 29 masters, and trained a group of outstanding talents for the Party and the country. * * * There are more than 40 teachers and students 1 person, including professors1person, 9 associate professors, 6 senior engineers, 7 lecturers, 3 doctoral supervisors, 48 doctoral students, and 4 graduate students, forming 6 research teams in different directions. By the end of 2007, more than 20 research projects, such as World Bank project, National Defense Patent Office project of the General Armament Department of China People's Liberation Army, National Development and Reform Commission project, State Oceanic Administration project, regional circular economy planning and strategic planning project, have been completed, among which more than 20 scientific and technological awards have been awarded by national, provincial and ministerial level and national professional societies. He has published more than 20 monographs and teaching materials, and published more than a thousand academic papers in professional core journals at home and abroad. More than 100 papers have been searched by international search institutions such as EI, SCI and ISTP.
Academic lectures are the weekly academic activities of the Institute. Every semester, the Institute regularly invites 6-8 experts and scholars with deep attainments and high reputation to give comprehensive academic lectures in the field of systems engineering, and conduct extensive and in-depth discussions around cutting-edge research topics and scientific research projects. Matching with academic lectures, technical teams or project teams conduct technical research and difficult discussions in a small scope. The combination of the two provides 1 platform for the staff of the institute to exchange ideas with a relaxed academic environment and a strong academic atmosphere, so that everyone can fully enjoy the resources inside and outside the institute, grasp the latest academic trends, and conduct in-depth exploration on a certain issue and field. It fully embodies the "great wisdom" advocated by Qian Xuesen, a famous system science thinker and the founder of missile/aerospace/system engineering in China. The Great Wisdom is based on the Comprehensive Integration from Qualitative to Quantitative written by Qian Xuesen and others in 1992. By summing up and sublimating some successful international experiences and scientific and technological achievements, the "comprehensive integration seminar hall" or "comprehensive integration project" (MsE) is refined. The "comprehensive integration method from qualitative to quantitative" was refined by Qian Xuesen and others in the late 1980s from today's world social form, the reality of scientific and technological development, past engineering practice and the experience and lessons of social reform, as an effective method to realize comprehensive observation, control, simulation and processing of open complex giant systems. In the face of complex problems, "great wisdom" is guided by scientific epistemology. Make full use of modern information technologies such as computers and information networks to form an intelligent system with people as the main body, man-machine combination and man-network combination, and efficiently call relevant information, data, knowledge and experience at home and abroad to enlighten experts' minds; And through democratic discussion, let experts express their opinions, complement and inspire each other, and give full play to creativity based on the emergence mechanism of complex systems; Then, the theories, knowledge, experience, judgments and suggestions of experts from all sides are integrated with relevant information and data, and the solution is simulated, tried and corrected repeatedly through the method of establishing "combat simulation", so that the subsystems, levels, factors and their interrelationships of complex things (open complex giant systems) can be clearly grasped from qualitative to quantitative, and the best solution for understanding and solving problems can be gradually "integrated". This is the wisdom immersed in the cyberspace formed in the vast information space, a new way of thinking and thinking system needed in the era of knowledge explosion and information flooding, and a combination of scientific epistemology and modern system engineering methods. It is based on the research results of thinking science (cognitive science) and computer science (artificial intelligence), which combines human wisdom with high performance and efficiency of computers. Through the "Dacheng Wisdom Project", the group wisdom, data and information of various experts are organically combined with computer and artificial intelligence technology, and the scientific theories and knowledge of various disciplines are combined with unspeakable experience, intuition and inspiration. Therefore, this method can give full play to human subjectivity.
