What details should I pay attention to in my graduation thesis?
A qualified scientific and technological paper should be innovative in content and structure, and the writing of the paper should highlight the key points and the content should be true and correct; Starting from the content, serving the content, not empty sentences and not wasting words are the basic principles. In addition, paper writing should also abide by the corresponding norms and master certain skills. In my work, I consulted a large number of unpublished articles of graduate students and found the following problems:

Inappropriate title

Some authors have made several different contents in their doctoral papers, and it is difficult to accurately express the meaning of the topic. You can highlight a little, but don't write everything that is not too close to a topic. Some papers are not relevant to the topic, which makes the topic more difficult to decide. Therefore, when writing a thesis, the topic of graduate students should be as concise and accurate as possible. A topic has only one theme and must be taken away. There are also some papers that are part of the work under a big theme. More information can be given in the form of subtitles if necessary.

Incomplete summary

Abstracts of natural science papers should generally include the purpose, methods, results and conclusions of the research. In a large number of abstracts edited by the author, some abstracts are too simple, either lacking research purpose or omitting research methods. However, some abstracts are too complicated, even covering the significance of research and the direction of future research. It is suggested that graduate students should provide readers with as much information as possible in limited words according to the above four aspects when writing abstracts of papers, which fully reflects the innovation of this study.

The introduction was taken out of context.

In order to highlight the advantages of their own methods, some graduate papers quote predecessors' work out of context and even deliberately distort the meaning of others, which is very undesirable. How to objectively and effectively comment on the previous research work, point out the shortcomings of the current research, and purposefully explain the importance of their own research is a problem that graduate students need to think about when writing scientific research papers. In addition, when quoting predecessors' works in the introduction, it is very important to clearly mark the source of the literature, otherwise it will be suspected of plagiarism. A good introduction should also come straight to the point and be concise.

This conclusion is inappropriate.

It is not a good habit for some graduate students to copy some words from the text, introduction and abstract into the conclusion and know what the conclusion says before they see it. It is suggested that graduate students should point out the principles and universality revealed by the research results completely, accurately and concisely according to the phenomena and data analysis obtained from the research or experiment in this paper.

The author's signature is not standardized

The author refers to the person who has made all or part contributions to the conception of the thesis theme, the implementation of specific research work and writing. Can answer the main content of the paper, and the person who wrote the paper is the legal right holder of the paper, that is, the first author. The authors of co-authored papers should be ranked according to their contribution to the work of the paper. In practical work, it often involves the dissemination of the author's annotation. As we all know, the correspondent is equal to the first author, and it is recognized that foreign journals mark multiple correspondent authors on research papers produced by the same unit or multiple units. However, there is controversy in the domestic periodical circle. |

We investigated the editorial departments of some sci-tech journals, and the result shows that most journals follow the principle that if the first author of an article is a graduate student, his tutor can be labeled as a correspondent because of his role in this research, and non-tutors can't be a correspondent. The author comes into contact with some manuscripts in his daily work. Due to various factors, some of them write more than one correspondent, and some graduate students are correspondent, trying to use more than one article, which is strictly inappropriate. Therefore, graduate students should consult clearly when submitting manuscripts, and don't write themselves in the position of correspondent, otherwise periodical editors will eliminate manuscripts in the preliminary examination.

References are not standardized.

The documents cited in the paper must be listed in the reference section at the end of the paper, with consistent serial numbers and accurate quotations. As a second citation, the author must confirm the original document and avoid the error of repeated citation. The description format of documents should conform to the description format required by periodicals. It is suggested that the author must understand the requirements of the journal for literature description before submitting the manuscript, so as to avoid the timely publication of the paper due to some technical problems.

Selection of paper duplicate checking system

A paper is almost finished, but because I didn't choose the paper detection system, the last paper I handed in failed. It's irritating to think about it, but how bad the paper duplicate checking system is. It is suggested that the author consider the resource pool of the detection system, and the creation time is aimed at the crowd. Strictly speaking, HowNet and Gocheck are both good.
