Southwestern University of Finance and Economics, located in Chengdu, a national historical and cultural city known as the land of abundance, is directly under the Ministry of Education of People's Republic of China (PRC) and listed as "21/project". Selected in "20 1 1 Plan" and "985 Innovation Platform of Engineering Superiority Discipline", it is a national key university with economic management as the main body and finance as the focus, and is also a pilot university of national education system reform, and is known as "China Financial Talent Pool".
Southwestern University of Finance and Economics was founded in Shanghai Guanghua University 1925. On June 3rd 1925, patriotic teachers and students of St. John's University in Shanghai left school to support Mr. Zhang Shouyong to establish Guanghua University. The name of the school is taken from "Sun Moon Guanghua, Dan Fu Dan Xi" ("Qing Yun Ge"), which symbolizes the revolutionary spirit of rejuvenating China and resisting imperialist slaughter and slavery. 1938, Guanghua University moved from Shanghai to Chengdu in the bonfire of the Anti-Japanese War and established Guanghua University Chengdu Branch. 1946 changed its name to private Chenghua University. 1952 Private Chenghua University was changed to public, and some colleges or departments were transferred to form Sichuan University of Finance and Economics. 1960 Sichuan university of finance and economics and Sichuan university of science and technology were established respectively, and in 196 1 year they merged and renamed Chengdu university. 1978 resumed as Sichuan University of Finance and Economics. 1979 was handed over from Sichuan province to the People's Bank of China. 1985 changed its name to Southwestern University of Finance and Economics.
In the course of running a school, masters such as Hu Shi, Zhou Youguang, Qian Zhongshu, Xu Zhimo, Ye Shengtao, Xie Lin and Chen Baoyin all wrote books here. Economists such as Peng, Mei Yuanmou, Liu Hongkang, Yang Youzhi, Tang Xianglong, Liu and Zeng give lectures here.
As of April 20 15, the school has two campuses, Guanghua and Liulin, with a jurisdiction area of more than 2,300 mu; More than 22,600 full-time students; There are 33 undergraduate majors and 27 colleges (centers and departments); Full-time teachers1more than 380 people.
