The Comedy Factor in the Opera The Wedding of Figaro
Teaching objective of Figaro Wedding Appreciation: 1. Try to analyze the style characteristics of Mozart's works with musical elements. 2. Appreciate the opera "The Wedding of Figaro": overture, Figaro's aria and septet. 3. Guide students to analyze the musical value of Mozart's works, so as to pave the way for class. This semester's music class is planned to begin with Bach, introducing the representative works of famous musicians from 17 to 19 century. In the process of teaching, I found that students are very interested in musicians' stories, sometimes even more than appreciating the works themselves, so I introduced the legendary experience of musicians first, then appreciated his masterpieces, and then put forward a higher requirement: to understand the composer's composition style. This teaching design is obviously not enough to introduce a musician in one class, so I simply serialized this content. It's better to adopt some few but precise strategies instead of superficial and clear water. Even if only two or three musicians are introduced in a semester, I think it is ok as long as students like it, so there is such a teaching design. Before this class, the students had enjoyed a concert of Mozart's classic works, including string serenade in G major, clarinet concerto in A major and symphony No.40. They also spent two classes watching the movie Biography of Mozart. In the movie, the students learned about Mozart, a real musical genius. His legendary life and exaggerated laughter left a deep impression on the students. In the film, nuanced works such as Serenade for Wind Music in B-flat Major, Escape from the Harem, Figaro's Wedding, Don Juan, Magic Flute and Requiem run through. The students were silent and devoted while enjoying the film. What attracts them is vivid stories, and the soundtrack of the film is not important to them. The main purpose of my design of this course is to strike while the iron is hot and lead students back to music from movies, not simply to laugh it off, but to try to understand Mozart's music in a deeper level. The breakthrough point is the interesting opera The Wedding of Figaro. I designed this course, and I don't want to be "big and comprehensive". My approach is to lead students to review the film together, try to analyze the characteristics of music from several classic clips, and let students participate in specific music and opera plots, so as to get a deeper understanding of Mozart and get emotional music. The design of some teaching links does not have to be completely completed, and it is determined according to the cooperation of students in the class. Teaching process: 1. The collision between genius and mediocrity. Enjoy the wind concerto in B flat major. Audio: wind concerto in B flat major, clip of the movie Biography of Mozart. Thinking: ① The origin of music, ② There are several kinds of musical instruments, and ③ Talk about the feelings of this kind of music and movies. In the film, salieri saw the music from Mozart's music stand, and the music in his mind had a great shock. The score of this passage is very successful. "The rusty bassoon hung there motionless, and the addition of the oboe immediately enlivened the music." Salieri's musical talent is very high, and this ability is enough to make him a successful musician. He was diligent and became a court musician of the emperor through hard work. The only thing he lacks is Mozart's inspiration and endless musical thoughts. The film makes a good contrast, that is mediocrity and genius. 2. Spring-like melody audio-visual materials: After the premiere of the film "Harem Escape", the emperor commented that there were too many notes. Mozart replied: not much, not much. The emperor is speechless, which is still too much for one night ┈┈ Exploration and practice: ① How many notes will this piece have in 1 minute? This paper analyzes the theme song of Figaro's Wedding Overture.

How fast can you sing (play)? Encourage students to practice the piano in the teacher's office next door and show them after practice. The teacher uses the computer to change the playback speed and listen to different effects. 4 analysis: Mozart's favorite theme writing, the major chord is decomposed upwards.

Appreciation: Overture 3. Inspiration produces audio-visual materials: In the film, the emperor wants to give Mozart a welcome song specially created by salieri. Mozart has recited it. Salieri was embarrassed to say that it was boring after playing on the piano. Then he improvised a tune, which was later used as the most famous aria "Don't Be a Lover" in the opera "The Wedding of Figaro". ① Discussion: Is this plot in the film credible? Conclusion: The most important thing in music creation is inspiration. Mozart's creative inspiration is almost arbitrary. With inspiration, his creation will come naturally. There is a detail in the film, and his works have no traces of modification! ② Theme score analysis: another major chord decomposes into rising melody ③ Teachers' participation: singing this China version of Never Being a Lover again, which is the baritone singer's favorite opera aria. Unfortunately, I'm a baritone, and I haven't become a singer yet, so I can only sing one paragraph. ⑤ Appreciate this aria in the opera ⑤ Explore practice: Analyze Figaro's character from this work and the performance of the actors in the opera. Although he is a servant, Figaro is quite ordinary, optimistic, humorous and enterprising. In his songs, he exhorted Chedjou Bino, who only knew love all day, to look for himself in the barracks, and even portrayed a bearded man fighting with a gun, which shows that he is a successful ideological worker. From the image of Figaro, we can find the shadow of Mozart, which also explains why he insisted on writing this opera despite the emperor's ban, because he liked the role of Figaro too much! Writing music is the main part of Mozart's life, and writing his favorite music is like a duck to water. This opera can't be successful! 4. Unparalleled beauty of harmony, interesting audio-visual material of storyline: Mozart lobbied the emperor to support him in writing The Wedding of Figaro. At most, he arranged for 20 people to sing at the same time. If 20 people speak at the same time, it will be very fascinating and move the emperor. ① Discussion: What is a duet? More than two people, each singing a different melody, this is a duet. Singing one voice is a chorus, and singing more than two voices is a chorus. (2) There are many duets and quartets, so it is naturally difficult to arrange more voices. Mozart arranged a large number of duets of 6, 7 or even 20 people in this opera with his extraordinary multi-voice organization ability, and its harmonious beauty became the biggest highlight of this opera except overture and aria. Of course, this also puts high demands on performers. (3) Exploring practice: Excerpted from a septet in the second act, in which Figaro unexpectedly reunites with his parents and clarifies Susanna's misunderstanding. The plot is incredible, and the septet is perfect to the extreme. This script is distributed to every student. There are two ways to participate. One is to be familiar with the script, and appreciate the singing without Chinese subtitles for the first time, and appreciate the singing with Chinese subtitles for the second time. Students can talk about their feelings. The second way of participation is to arrange students to rehearse a short play according to the script and experience the difference between Mozart's seven people talking and singing at the same time. Of course, students' performances can only be compared, and they can only read the script. According to the actual situation of the class and the completion of the previous teaching content, decide the way to participate. 5. Music, not politics. Some music critics say Mozart's operas are of epoch-making significance. For the first time, it regards nobles as the negative role and servants as the positive role, so it has anti-feudal ideological value. After listening to the opera, we couldn't recognize the sharp class conflict. There are many characters in the play, with distinct personalities and bizarre plot twists and turns. In the ending of the comedy, the sharp class contradiction was solved. At the end of the opera, all kinds of people were happy except the count. In the movie Biography of Mozart, Mozart made it clear that I am not interested in politics. I think this explanation is true and credible. 6. Explore and practice the opera "The Wedding of Figaro". Although the teacher is very admired, there must be many students who disagree and are unmoved. You may prefer musicals, so let's find out the shortcomings of this opera. Teacher's opinion: ① It was too long, and the emperor yawned. Fortunately, only one person yawned at the premiere. If you yawn three times, it means that the opera has failed. This actor is so ugly, especially the fat woman. The stage background and props are too simple to compare with musicals such as Phantom of the Opera. These factors directly restricted the high school students' interest in traditional Chinese opera in the 265,438+0 century, but it was hard to hide. Under Mozart's incomparable beautiful melody, all the shortcomings are unimportant. Let's enjoy the wonderful feeling brought by Mozart.
