Approaching graduation, I believe everyone is busy with their papers. When making a paper in word, there are bound to be some problems, such as: how to set a paper section in a word document? There is no page number on the cover and table of contents of the paper, but the abstract page number (usually Roman numeral page number) is set separately, and the Arabic numeral page number is required for the text (including references and acknowledgements). If you want to save these three different page formatting formats in the same word document, you must manage them by section. The following is the setting method.

1, summary section break settings:

Set the cursor before the abstract text and click "Page Layout-Delimiter-section break-Next Page" to confirm;

Place the cursor in front of the abstract text, click Insert-Header-Edit Footer, and click OK to cancel the link to the previous footer.

2. Set the text section break: set the cursor in front of the text and set the text section according to step 1 "Set section break".

3. Insert the page number of the abstract:

Place the cursor in front of the abstract text and click "Insert-Page Number-Bottom of Page (b)-General Number 2";

Next, set the cursor in front of the abstract text, click Insert-Page Number-Set Page Number Format to open the page number format setting window, set the number format as Roman numeral page number and set the page number as the starting page number (a): 1. After confirmation, the page number of the abstract page is Roman numeral page number.

4. Insert the page number of the text: set the cursor in front of the text and follow the operation of "Insert the page number of the abstract" in step 3, except that the page number format needs to be set to Arabic numerals.
