Brief introduction of the author of carotid endarterectomy
Loftus is a professor and director of neurosurgery at Temple University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. He was the president of the American Association of Neurologists (AANS). Dr. loftus has made great achievements in the research of intracranial collateral circulation, intraoperative cryopreservation of aneurysms, extracranial carotid occlusive diseases and cerebrovascular reconstruction, and published more than 200 academic research papers, reviews, monographs and chapters and abstracts of some monographs. Dr. Loftus has compiled 12 neurosurgery textbook, and is also the editor-in-chief of Neurosurgery Technology. He is also the editor and reviewer of more than a dozen academic magazines. He is an international authority in the number of cases, skills, invention of surgical instruments and basic application research of carotid endarterectomy. At present, the special instrument for carotid endarterectomy, which is widely used in neurosurgery and vascular surgery all over the world, is named after Loftus.
