School of Optoelectronic Science and Engineering, University of Electronic Science and Technology of China, formerly known as the Department of Electronic Devices, was one of the six earliest departments established by Chengdu Institute of Telecommunications Engineering, and ranked fifth. 1964 changed its name to the department of electric vacuum devices, 1979 changed its name to the department of photoelectric technology, and in 2006 1,1established the school of photoelectric information.
