Manufacturing industry is the pillar industry of Taizhou and the main driving force to promote economic development. At present, the global manufacturing industry is experiencing a profound strategic change, while Taizhou manufacturing industry is in an unprecedented predicament. The main purpose of this paper is to study and analyze the experience of the United States and the European Union in dealing with the challenges in the development process, so as to promote the development of Taizhou manufacturing industry.

This paper introduces the present situation of manufacturing industry in the United States and the European Union, and describes their development models. Therefore, some suggestions are put forward to promote the development of Taizhou manufacturing industry from the aspects of strategy, governance and human resources.
