The major of Chinese Language and Literature (undergraduate) mainly trains applied senior professionals who serve the socialist market economy and cultural construction in the 2 1 century, develop morally, intellectually, physically and aesthetically, and systematically master the basic theories, knowledge and skills of writing, secretarial, management and public relations, language and literature teaching and research in China. Graduates are suitable for management, secretarial, public relations and publicity in party and government departments, institutions and enterprises; Engaged in creation, criticism, editing and news work in cultural propaganda departments and cultural media; Engaged in Chinese teachers, teaching management and educational research in middle schools and related education departments. The academic system is four years, and the bachelor of arts degree is awarded.

This major is now a key construction major in hechi university, with a teaching team with strong teaching strength, reasonable age structure and pioneering spirit. There are Hongshuihe Minority Culture Research Office and Northwest Guangxi Writers Research Association. At present, there are the key construction disciplines of Guangxi universities-literature and art, the key construction laboratory of Guangxi universities-the training base of literary creative talents, the research base of humanities and social sciences of Guangxi universities-the research base of intangible cultural resources of ethnic minorities in northwest Guangxi, another key construction discipline (modern and contemporary literature in China) and two key construction courses (writing and literary theory). Journalism major:

Journalism major (undergraduate) mainly cultivates applied senior news professionals who have systematic knowledge and skills of news theory, extensive knowledge of culture and science, are familiar with China's news policies and regulations, and can engage in editing, news and management in news, publishing, party and government, propaganda departments of enterprises and institutions. The academic system is four years, and the bachelor of arts degree is awarded.

This major was established in 2004 to train applied talents in an open mode. Professor Jing Ming from Guangxi Normal University, Luo, President and Editor-in-Chief of Guangxi Literature Magazine, Shi Feng, President and Editor-in-Chief of Hechi Daily and Mao Dengfeng, President and Editor-in-Chief of Guilin Daily were hired as part-time professors of this major.

The characteristic of this major is to cultivate applied talents and writing talents with the practical operation ability of news "gathering, writing and editing". In Hechi Daily, Hechi TV, Youjiang Daily, Guilin Daily, Yulin Daily, Guigang Daily and many other news media organizations, internship bases are set up, and various large-scale activities held in Guangxi are used to organize students to participate in internship practice every year. The internship period of this major is half a year, which can greatly improve students' practical operation ability. At present, there are two news publications, 04 New Newspaper and Longjiang Times, which provide practical fields for students to collect, write, edit and comment on their own news works. In the past four years, this major has made outstanding achievements. Most students are active in various news and literary societies in the school, and they publish more than 200 literary and news works every semester during their school days. During the internship, the graduates of 2008 published more than 40 works per capita, which was favored by employers such as news media for their solid theoretical foundation and practical operation skills.

Chinese as a foreign language major:

Teaching Chinese as a foreign language (undergraduate) is a newly established major in our department. It will focus on bilingual teaching of Chinese as a foreign language, and cultivate senior professionals with a solid foundation in Chinese and foreign languages, a comprehensive understanding of China literature, China culture and cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries, and further training potential; Senior practical linguist who can teach Chinese as a foreign language and communicate with foreign countries in relevant departments, various schools, press and publication, cultural management and enterprises and institutions. The major of teaching Chinese as a foreign language came into being under the background of "Chinese fever" in the world. The deepening of China's reform and opening up, the continuous development of international exchanges and cooperation, and the formation of Guangxi-ASEAN Pan-Beibu Gulf Economic Zone provide broad prospects for graduates' employment.

Main courses: ancient Chinese, modern Chinese, introduction to linguistics, introduction to teaching Chinese as a foreign language, teaching Chinese as a foreign language, ancient literature, modern literature, contemporary literature, foreign literature, introduction to literature, writing, English (or a Southeast Asian language) listening and speaking, English (or a Southeast Asian language) writing, computer application foundation, etc.

Secretarial major:

The major of secretarial (junior college) mainly trains applied professionals who have the basic knowledge and practical skills of secretarial major and can engage in secretarial work in party and government organs, enterprises and institutions, news, editing, publishing and other departments. The main courses are secretarial science, applied writing, public relations, file management, modern management, office automation technology, modern Chinese, literature foundation, basic English, communication, sociology and so on. This major was set up in 2007, with the characteristics of cultivating practical talents such as office secretarial work, editing management and applied writing talents, and taking advantage of various opportunities to organize students to carry out internships and apprenticeships to improve their practical operation ability.

China Language and Literature Department has a strong, reasonable age structure, rigorous and energetic teaching staff, with strong teaching, scientific research and management capabilities. There are 46 teachers. There are 4 professional teachers1person and 5 teaching assistants, including 5 professors, 2 associate professors1person, 26 lecturers and 35 teachers with master's degree or above. Among the professors, there are many masters tutors and experts from the expert department of Guangxi Academy of Social Sciences. Many teachers are members of Guangxi Writers Association, directors of Guangxi Writing Association and members of Guangxi Literary Theorists Association. Professor Liang, former president of Minzu University of China, Professor Wu Xuan of East China Normal University, Professor Tang of Taiwan Province Political University, Professor Dai Fang of new york State University, two writers who are well-known in the domestic literary world and have won the Lu Xun Literature Prize, and Fan, Luo, Chang Jianjun, Huang Peihua, Chang Biyu, Li Yueruo, etc. 17 famous experts, professors and writers in and outside the region as part-time professors or writers. There are seven teaching and research sections, including literature and art, writing, news, ancient literature, modern and contemporary literature, foreign literature and linguistics. Remarkable achievements have been made in teaching and research, and more than 30 books, such as academic monographs, ancient books, teaching materials and Chinese teaching and research in middle schools, have been published publicly. Since 2003, more than 700 academic papers have been published, including 13 scientific research projects at district level and above and 17 scientific research projects at college level. 1 professor won the first prize of the autonomous region and the National Excellence Award of "Excellent Teaching Achievements in National Colleges and Universities"; 1 professor won the second prize of "Outstanding Achievements in Social Sciences in Autonomous Region"; Many teachers have won the titles of "Excellent Educator", "Excellent Party Worker", "Excellent party member", "Advanced Individual in Guangxi Language and Writing Work", "Excellent Teacher in Hechi City" and "Excellent Party Worker" for many times.

In 2007, with the approval of the Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education, the department established the Hongshuihe Cultural Research Institute of China Minority Research Center, and was awarded the icon of "Key Research Base of Humanities and Social Sciences of the Ministry of Education". As the main organizer, the department has held many large-scale academic seminars in China and the region, such as "National Huang Tingjian Seminar", "Northwest Guangxi Writers Seminar", "National Mulao Literature Seminar", "National Liu Sanjie Culture Seminar" and "2008 Guangxi Literature Forum". These academic activities have had a certain influence throughout the country.

Over the past 30 years, China Language and Literature Department has trained more than 4,000 undergraduate and junior college students and more than 2,000 adult undergraduate and junior college students for China. Most of them have become the backbone of education and teaching departments at all levels, news media, local party and government, enterprises and institutions in our region, and there are many people who have made outstanding contributions in all walks of life, such as Chen Hailun and Yang Dongfu, who are well-known scholars and professors in our region. Dongxi (Tian) and Fan became famous young writers in Guangxi, Qin Kuaile and Wei Jiaheng became famous journalists, and Lan became a model worker in Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province and a model for teachers in the city.
