Qiu Zhenguang of Fujian Red Cross Society
The exploration and practice of helping the Red Cross in colleges and universities has begun, which will become a long-term task and an eternal topic for the capacity building of the Red Cross grassroots organizations in China, especially for strengthening the self-construction of the Red Cross Society in colleges and universities. We must conscientiously sum up our experience, study its inherent laws, actively explore and boldly innovate, and constantly improve our work level.
First, we must strengthen organizational leadership. Strengthening organizational leadership is the key to do a good job in helping the Red Cross in colleges and universities. Adhering to the leading cadres of the Red Cross Society in colleges and universities to set an example is one of our important characteristics and experiences in helping the Red Cross Society in colleges and universities. Leading cadres of the Red Cross Society in colleges and universities actively participate in the Red Cross assistance work in colleges and universities, take the lead in contacting poor students, take the lead in pairing assistance, effectively solve the problems that poor students are eager to solve, set an example for college students with practical actions, truly stimulate their enthusiasm for participating in public welfare, gain strong internal motivation for the Red Cross assistance work in colleges and universities, and effectively promote the implementation of the Red Cross assistance work in colleges and universities, thus ensuring long-term, effective, healthy and orderly development.
Second, we must persist in reform and innovation. Reform and innovation is the source of power to do a good job in helping the Red Cross in colleges and universities. In recent years, some colleges and universities have explored the establishment of "Red Cross Charity Supermarket", "Fund for Helping Poor Students" and "Fund for Helping Poor Students", which have effectively solved the problems of how to further protect the lives of poor students in colleges and universities, how to further enhance the "hematopoietic" function of the Red Cross Society in colleges and universities, and how to further broaden the channels for raising funds for Red Cross relief, which has effectively promoted the smooth development of the Red Cross relief work in colleges and universities. This is also the result of bold innovation by the Red Cross Society in colleges and universities in light of the actual situation of the school and the problems existing in the work.
Third, we must integrate resources and form a joint force. To do a good job in helping the Red Cross in colleges and universities, all relevant departments of the school and all walks of life must work together under the unified leadership of the school party Committee. In recent years, some colleges and universities have actively explored effective working mechanisms. Under the leadership of the Party Committee of the school, the Red Cross Society of the school earnestly performed its duty of relief, actively integrated relevant departments and various social resources, and established the system of the Red Cross Relief Association in colleges and universities. The Red Cross Society of the school has strengthened communication and coordination with the Red Cross Society at higher levels, alumni associations and caring enterprises, actively raised funds, and made resources * * * * available, information * * * used and joint efforts * * * grasped, which provided a strong guarantee for the Red Cross assistance work in colleges and universities, and formed a good working atmosphere for the Red Cross Society at higher levels to help the Red Cross Society at lower levels and the Red Cross Societies at all levels to help poor students.
Judging from the current practice and experience, colleges and universities should correctly handle the "three relations" in rescuing the Red Cross.
First, we should correctly handle the relationship between key points and general ones. Giving prominence to key points and giving consideration to the general is an important method for colleges and universities to carry out the work of aiding the red. On the basis of doing a good job in helping poor students in an all-round way, we should grasp the key points of work, make breakthroughs in key and weak links, and then promote them from point to area as a whole in order to achieve practical results. For example, for poor students from families who are poor due to illness or disaster, we should give priority to funding, publish information about poor students, build a platform for caring people from caring units, and help poor students solve their school problems through the issuance of caring scholarships; For urban poor students whose parents are laid off and unemployed, priority should be given to work-study programs, and they should be helped to improve their ability to work-study programs through training and guidance, providing work-study programs information and jobs. For poor students in rural areas, the focus is on life assistance, issuing assistance cards, taking the initiative to come to the door regularly, taking care of people to match the bridge and helping them in pairs.
Second, we should correctly handle the relationship between material help and spiritual encouragement. Material assistance to poor students is limited and temporary, while ideological and spiritual encouragement is fundamental and long-term. At the same time, material and spirit complement each other and transform each other, so we should correctly handle the relationship between material assistance and spiritual encouragement in the work of helping. At the same time, we should do a good job in the ideological and political work of poor students through some effective methods, encourage them to establish the consciousness of self-reliance and mastering skills, enhance their confidence in overcoming difficulties, and improve their ability to constantly adapt to social development.
Third, we should correctly handle the relationship between helping poor students and serving vulnerable groups in colleges and universities. Subsidizing poor students is consistent and unified with serving the disadvantaged groups in colleges and universities and establishing the fundamental goal of improving the situation of the most disadvantaged groups. We should take serving the disadvantaged groups in colleges and universities as the starting point and the end result of the Red Cross's assistance work, continue to do a good job in helping and serving the disadvantaged groups in colleges and universities, and always give priority to helping the disadvantaged groups in colleges and universities solve their problems in economy, psychology, study and physiology, and focus on solving the problems they are most concerned about. The direct and realistic interests of the disadvantaged groups in colleges and universities make them feel the fraternity and humanitarian power of the Red Cross. Combine the concern for poor students with the concern for the disadvantaged groups in colleges and universities, and help the disadvantaged groups in colleges and universities at the same time.
