Following the academic fraud in Zhai Tianlin, the Ministry of Education will spend 8 million yuan to conduct a sampling survey on doctoral dissertations.

The Ministry of Education recently announced the "Departmental Budget for 20 19", which mentioned that according to the requirements of the Sampling Method for Doctoral Dissertations, it is planned to sample about 6,000 dissertations in 20 19, and the sampling ratio is about 10% of the number of doctoral degrees awarded in the previous academic year. Each paper will be sent to three peer experts for exchange review. If the evaluation of 1 among the three experts is "unqualified", two more experts will be sent to re-evaluate.

In terms of budget arrangement, the sampling budget for dissertations in 20 19 is 8 million yuan, which is all used to entrust the degree and postgraduate education development center of the Ministry of Education to carry out sampling exchange review of doctoral dissertations, mainly including expert review fees and related work funds.
