Yu Dafu is a unique writer in the history of modern literature in China. During his short literary career, he created a large number of poems, essays, novels and critical articles. Liu Haisu, his old friend, commented on his achievements and said, "Poetry comes first, prose comes second, novels come third, and critical articles come fourth". But what made Yu Dafu famous in the literary world was not his poems and essays, but his bold and true novels. Because he read extensively the literary works of Germany, Britain, Japan, Russia and other countries while studying in Japan, his novel creation was deeply influenced by these foreign literatures. Through reading the complete works of Yu Dafu, the author finds that although Yu Dafu's novel creation and literary outlook are also influenced by European writers Rousseau and Turgenev, they show more literary elements of many Japanese novelists. Therefore, this paper attempts to discuss comprehensively and systematically that Yu Dafu's literary view and novel creation are influenced by several modern Japanese novelists, mainly based on original materials and scientific evidence, supplemented by aesthetic evaluation. The thesis consists of three parts: introduction, text and conclusion. The introduction part introduces the origin, research status at home and abroad, research methods, research value, difficulties and structural arrangement of this paper. The text consists of five chapters. The first chapter describes the Japanese literary context in which Yu Dafu lived while studying abroad. The second chapter briefly introduces Tayama Katai's life and the influence of western naturalistic literary thoughts and related literary theories. By comparing the novel texts of the two writers, this paper points out the identity setting of Yu Dafu's related novels in the protagonist.
