Word has a way to automatically form a table of contents.

First, you must set the content in the form of title level in the outline view, then position the mouse where you want to insert the table of contents-insert-separator-page break to separate the cover from the table of contents, and then insert-index and table of contents-table of contents-without displaying page numbers-and confirm. Then click the mouse-Insert-Delimiter-Next section break after the inserted directory. So the cover takes up one page, the table of contents takes up one page, and the rest is the text. (What is achieved in this way is that the table of contents and the cover are a section, and the text is a section, while the header and footer in word can set up a "section" separately. )

Insert page numbers, home page and table of contents do not participate in page editing or display page numbers: click the first page of the text-view-header and footer-click the header of the text-and then click the same button in the header and footer toolbar to cancel the previous section-and then click the same button in the footer of the text to cancel the previous section. Then click-Insert-Page Number-Format-Start Page Number 1- OK in the text. In this way, there is no page number on the home page and the table of contents, and the page number of the text starts from 1.
