Professor Guo Zhenyu, a famous scholar, teaches teachers and students in our college how to publish papers in SSCI Daily [].
Professor Guo Zhenyu, editor-in-chief of Asian Journal of Communication of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore and founding dean of the School of Communication of Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, gave a wonderful lecture entitled "Research, Publishing and Academic Journals: An International Academic Journal Editor's Experience" in the conference room on the second floor of the School of Communication. Professor Guo first introduced the current situation and trend of international periodical publishing from the perspective of "academic research, academic publishing and academic career". He pointed out that at present, measuring the status and ranking of universities in the world is usually based on research funds and publishing papers. In recent years, with the increase of researchers and research funds and the subdivision of disciplines and majors, the number of academic journals has increased rapidly, involving many different fields and majors, and the classification has become more refined. Then, by comparing the situation in the United States and the Asia-Pacific region, he introduced the present situation and development trend of scientific research and academic publishing in detail, and emphasized that the publication of papers in China is on the rise, and the proportion of papers in the world is the fastest growing, but the number of citations of China's papers is low, indicating that the quality of papers needs to be improved. Then, he briefly introduced the development process of periodicals, and explained in detail from the editor's point of view "the multi-angle relationship between research, publishing and academic periodicals", "How to maintain and improve the quality of periodicals: reviewing manuscripts, checking and screening" and "the process of reviewing manuscripts". Teachers and students are most concerned about "how to prepare for publishing academic papers?" "How to contribute?" , "the standard of peer review" and "publishing ethics" are expounded, and the ethical issues of publishing are discussed in depth. Finally, Professor Guo gave specific guidance and suggestions to the questions raised by teachers and students in our college. This lecture greatly helped the teachers and students of our college to climb the peak of scientific research, and the audience benefited a lot and won heartfelt laughter and applause.
