Liu Kaiqu's introduction
Liu Kaiqu (1904 ~ 1993), male, was born in Xiaoxian County, Xuzhou City (now Anhui Province). Sculptor, graduated from Beiping Fine Arts School in his early years, and served as the librarian of Hangzhou Art College after graduation. After that, I went to France and studied in the Sculpture Department of the National Academy of Fine Arts in Paris. After returning to China, he became a professor at Hangzhou Art Institute (China Academy of Fine Arts). His artistic style is a combination of Chinese and western sculpture techniques, with realistic techniques and concise, accurate and vivid modeling. 1 Created a number of works of art reflecting the theme of the Anti-Japanese War, such as the memorial to the fallen soldiers in the Battle of Songhu. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, he led the creation of the reliefs of the Monument to the People's Heroes, and created such reliefs as Crossing the River to Liberate China Victory, Supporting the Front Line, and Meeting the People's Liberation Army. He has served as president of Hangzhou Art College, vice mayor of Hangzhou, president of East China Branch of Central Academy of Fine Arts, vice president of Central Academy of Fine Arts, curator of China Art Museum, vice chairman of China Artists Association, and also served as member of the Eighth CPPCC and director of NLD Central Cultural Committee. He is the author of Selected Works of Liu Kaiqu's Fine Arts, and has published sculptures of Liu Kaiqu and Liu Kaiqu. The Liu Kaiqu Prize and the Liu Kaiqu Root Art Award named after them represent the highest awards of China sculpture and China Root Art respectively.
