What are the jade carving techniques and what are their characteristics?
1, clever color and carving technology

Clever carving refers to a process of carving by using the natural color of jade. The creation of pretty jade is generally based on the main color of jade, and the color is also pretty, so it is better to mix colors and be realistic.

2. Line pressing and treasure embedding

The line pressing and inlaying technology is to carve groove lines on jade products, and use a small hammer to knock gold and silver wires into the grooves to form patterns, so that the gold and silver wires are on the same plane with the jade surface. The effect of jade gold and silver dislocation is called line pressing. Pressing gold and silver wires on jade articles is called line pressing gemstones.

3, thin tire jade

Thin-embryo jade articles have appeared in ancient jade articles for a long time, among which Yu Lian petal-shaped cup in Tang Dynasty and Jade Flower-shaped cup in Ming Dynasty are excellent works. However, it was not until the Qing Dynasty that thin-walled jade became popular after fully absorbing the technical characteristics of Hundusitan jade, and finally occupied a place in the carving of jade carving vessels. Because the carcass is light and thin, the jade carved by thin tire technology can not only make the original heavy jade light, but also reduce the color of jade from cyan to white, showing the uniform and transparent beauty of jade.

4. Painting jade articles inside

Making a smoking pot with crystal or tea crystal and painting indoors is called an internal painting pot. The internal painting pot draws portraits of landscapes, flowers and birds, grass insects and people, and takes photos of cursive seals, poems and sentences. Jade brush is freehand brushwork, which does not reduce the style of famous works. Any transparent jade with a thin tire can be painted in the bore. The tool used in the internal painting process is a hook-shaped brush. The pen goes into the inner room, and the eyes observe the writing position and sketch the picture. Therefore, mastering the technique of internal painting is the skill of using a pen on the one hand, and the foundation of art on the other. Only by combining these two aspects can a good work be completed.

5. Chain jade

Ring chains are very common in jade articles. Generally, it is necessary to take out the ring chain from a whole piece of jade, and the scheme can only be determined after the overall study of modeling and the study of jade properties. The position, method, size and length of the ring chain are closely related to the stoniness of jade and the overall shape of the work. Generally speaking, brittle materials are not easy to make links too thin, while ductile materials can produce beautiful links.
