Watermark prints are printed on absorbent paper with water-based pigments, which can produce the contrast effect of wet, dark, virtual and strong, and the contact between water rhyme and ink color changes, which is full of interest.
The color of prints is different from that of paintings. No matter how many colors are set, we should keep the characteristics of printmaking, which is neither oil painting nor Chinese painting. Generally speaking, the color of printed matter should be simple, concise and general, and the rich color effect should be overprinted with the least color, so as to seek richness from simplicity and win more with less. The method and steps of color printing are to divide the edition according to the manuscript and carve several editions in several colors. After the carving is completed, the overprint is completed one by one. Watermark version can be woodcut version, paper version, blow-molded version, etc. Only by paying attention to the use of overprint marks can we ensure the accuracy of overprint of each printing plate. The printing paper should be kept at a certain humidity, and the printing tools are special lotus and brown eraser. This is a multi-board process (or multi-board process). You can also use pen color matching method and one-page multi-color overprint method, the latter two methods are simpler.
