To put it simply, planning should solve two basic problems:
organization work
Organizational work is a process of division of labor, distribution of rights and coordination of work in an organization in order to effectively achieve the goals set in the plan. It is a natural extension of planning work, including the design of organizational structure, the establishment of organizational relations, the allocation of personnel and organizational change.
Leading work
Leadership is a process in which managers use their authority and prestige to influence, guide and motivate all kinds of people to achieve their goals. When a manager inspires his subordinates, guides their actions, chooses the most effective communication channels or resolves disputes among members of the organization, he is engaged in leadership work.
The leadership function has two main points:
First, strive to do a good job in organization;
Second, strive to meet the individual needs of the members of the organization.
The core and difficulty of leadership work is to mobilize the enthusiasm of organization members, which requires leaders to use scientific incentive theory and appropriate leadership methods.
4. Control work
Control work includes establishing control objectives, measuring actual performance, analyzing differences and taking corrective measures. It is also a function that cannot be ignored in management activities.
The above four functions are interrelated and mutually restricted, among which planning is the primary function of management and the basis of organizing, leading and controlling functions; The function of organization, leadership and control is an important link and necessary means of effective management, and it is the guarantee to realize the plan and its objectives. Only by unifying and coordinating these four aspects and forming a coherent and continuous whole process of management activities can we ensure the smooth progress of management and the smooth realization of organizational goals.
