Appreciation of works:

Beethoven's Symphony of Destiny, formerly known as the Fifth Symphony, is a very philosophical work, and it is also the most representative of Beethoven's artistic style. The Symphony of Destiny is rigorous in structure, concise in technique and vivid in image, and there is a very clear internal relationship between the movements. The whole work is passionate, ambitious and full of strong artistic appeal.

The whole song has four movements.

The first movement is Allegro and Sonata. Music has a striking motive of fate from the beginning.

This motivation developed the first theme panic, which ran through the first movement and promoted the continuous development of music. The first theme is passionate and powerful, with the momentum of going forward bravely, expressing Beethoven's strong will to challenge feudal forces with indignation. Then, the horn sounded the horn changed by the motive of fate, which led to the second theme full of tenderness, lyricism and beauty.

Expressed Beethoven's desire and pursuit for happiness and a better life.

The motive of fate intruded again, leading to the development department, and the majestic fate once again prevailed. In the extended part, tone sandhi is very frequent, which increases the original instability and enriches the music.

The reproduction part is the same as the presentation part. But at the great end of this movement, the two themes met again, and the momentum of music was overwhelming, further demonstrating the people's strong will to overcome the darkness and their belief in winning.

The second movement

Andante slightly faster, variations on two themes. The first theme is lyricism, serenity and meditation, played by viola and cello. The elastic rhythm and undulating melody make this theme have inner enthusiasm and strength. The second theme is played by woodwind first, and then by brass instruments.

In the conclusion, the first theme is simply unfolded to show heroic optimism and gain confidence and strength for further struggle from meditation.

The third movement, Allegro and Scherzo, is the contrast of various forces on the eve of decisive battle.

Cello and double bass sound urgent, but violin sighs helplessly. The theme of fate is still a threat, and the first stage of decisive battle is still the victory of fate. However, the darkness is bound to pass and the dawn is just around the corner. The dance theme played with bass strings draws inspiring music passages, symbolizing people's confidence and optimism in the struggle under the dark forces.

Finally, under the performance of the first violin, the first theme freely extends upward, the band's range is increasing, the sound is strengthening, and an irresistible force directly leads the music to a brilliant finale.

The fourth movement

Allegro, sonata form. At first, it was a magnificent victory March. First, the band played a brilliant first theme, and then the strings played a cheerful second theme, showing the incomparable joy of the people's victory. At the climax of the development department, the carnival was suddenly interrupted, and the threat of fate sounded in the distance, but it has been lingering and can no longer stop the trend of historical progress.

As a result, the brilliant first theme sounded again, showing the overwhelming joy of the people's final victory through struggle. This decisive battle with fate ended in a bright and complete victory.
