Yang Xiuzhi's death was interpreted in The Romance of the Three Kingdoms as "I let Kuang go on my own talent and made several taboos against Cao Cao". It is pointed out that Yang Xiu's death is related to his "reliance on talents" and "taboo against Cao Cao". The History of the Three Kingdoms also wrote: "Mao was worried all day, quite talented, and was the nephew of the Yuan family, so he was punished for his crime." Although the identity of "nephew Yuan" was also one of the reasons for his murder, his death was also related to his talent. Then another problem arises: when it comes to talents, Cao Cao has countless talents. Like Guo Jia, Cheng Yu, Yu Xun and Jia Xu, which one is not brilliant. Why didn't they cause Cao Cao's jealousy because of their talent? So is it because Yang Xiu's talent violated Cao Cao's taboo? As we all know, Cao Cao is not a stingy person. Take Zhang Xiu as an example. When he launched a mutiny, he killed Cao Cao's son and beloved Dian Wei, and later surrendered to Cao Cao, but he was still treated by Cao Cao. The magnanimous Cao even forgave the revenge for killing his son. Why can't he forgive Yang Xiu's fault?
So is there any special "talent" of Yang Xiu that will make the generous Cao Cao unbearable and must be removed? Yang Xiu's talent in The Romance of the Three Kingdoms is mainly reflected in the following events:
Wide door incident. Cao Cao built a garden. After that, Cao Cao took a look, then wrote the word "live" on the door and left. As a result, "no one knows what it means", but Yang Xiu said, "adding the word" live "to the door is a broad word. The prime minister thought the garden was wide-eared. " Everyone didn't understand what Cao Cao was thinking, only Yang Xiu understood the meaning of the words on the door. And proudly tell others. After Cao Cao knew it, he had a "taboo" for Yang Xiu.
Dream killing. In order to prevent others from plotting against him, Cao Cao told others in his dream that he was going to kill someone, so that everyone should not be near him when he was asleep, and pretended to kill a waiter who covered himself with a quilt. The result is that "everyone thinks that Cao Cao killed people in his dream", but only Yang Xiu understood Cao Cao's intention and said to others, "The Prime Minister is not dreaming, but you listen in your dream". Cao Cao is even more "evil" after knowing it.
Cao Cao secretly tried the events of Cao Pi and Cao Zhi. Cao Cao wanted to examine the adaptability of Cao Pi and Cao Zhi. Let them out of the city on purpose, but secretly tell the doorman not to let them out of the city. As a result, xelloss honestly came back, but under the guidance of Yang Xiu, he killed the janitor. Yang Xiu anticipated Cao Cao's intention again. When Cao Cao knew it, it was no longer a simple "evil". At this point, he was already angry.
As can be seen from the above events, Yang Xiu's special talent is actually an insight into Cao Cao's intentions. In Xia Houdun's words, it is "known as Wang Weixin". Yang Xiu is like an outstanding psychologist. When everyone is drunk, he can "wake up alone" He can always accurately grasp Cao Cao's psychological dynamics. In front of Yang Xiu, Cao Cao seems to have been stripped naked, and all the secrets are clear. Cao Cao is suspicious by nature, and he certainly doesn't want his subordinates to see through himself completely. In front of subordinates, Cao Cao prefers to keep a sense of mystery, because only in this way can he better control his subordinates. And most of Cao Cao's men really often don't understand Cao Cao's intentions. But Cao Cao's tricks will not be fooled by Yang Xiu. It turned out that Yang Xiu only understood Cao Cao's intentions, but he refused to keep them in his heart. Instead, he repeatedly explained Cao Cao's intentions to others. In this way, the mystery pursued by Cao Cao will disappear, and his control over his subordinates will undoubtedly weaken. So, when Yang Xiu once again saw Cao Cao's intention of withdrawing troops, and told Xia Houdun without scruple, Cao Cao finally had enough of Yang Xiu and killed him in the name of "disturbing the morale".
Poor Yang Xiu saw through Cao Cao so many times, but never saw that Cao Cao had killed himself. As always, he spread Cao Cao's intentions and ideas everywhere, which eventually led to his own death. From this perspective, Yang Xiu did not fully see through Cao Cao.
