The third phase expansion project of Yangliuqing Thermal Power Plant started in June 1996, and two 300MW coal-fired heating units were built in the third phase. The units were put into operation in1February 1998 and1September 1999 respectively, with an annual designed power generation of 3.9 billion kwh and a designed heating area of about 7.6 million square meters. The biggest feature of the two units in the third phase is their remarkable environmental protection performance. German liquid slag discharge furnace is introduced into the boiler, which has a good environmental protection effect. There is a fly ash re-ignition system, which only discharges slag and does not discharge ash, thus avoiding the pollution of dust flying and ash flushing water to groundwater. The dust removal efficiency of electrostatic precipitator is more than 99.7%, and the dust emission concentration is lower than the national emission standard 1 times. The fourth phase expansion project of Yangliuqing Thermal Power Plant started construction on May 28th, 2005. Two 300MW coal-fired heating units were built in the fourth phase of the project, which were put into operation in February 2006 and May 2007 respectively. The annual designed power generation is 3.3 billion kWh, and the designed heating area is about120,000 square meters. The boiler is equipped with 100% fly ash reburning system. The unit can only discharge slag, not ash. At the same time, sealed dust-proof measures are adopted in the loading and unloading process of ash storage and slag storage, which effectively avoids the pollution of dust flying and ash flushing water to groundwater. Due to the good quality of power plant ash, ash can be used as raw materials for concrete and mortar admixture, and ash can replace building sand, which has been in short supply since it was put into production.

Yangliuqing Power Plant has the highest chimney of 240 meters in domestic power plants, which makes full use of the diffusion and dilution ability of the atmosphere and reduces the ground concentration of pollutants.

Adopt high-efficiency five-electric field electrostatic precipitator. The dust removal efficiency is more than 99.7%, and the actual maximum emission concentration of smoke and dust of the two units is 36.3 mg/m3 and 33.5 mg/m3, which are 24.2% and 22.3% of the national emission standards respectively. The coal powder milled by using classified cyclone burner, lean oxygen combustion and MPS medium-speed coal mill with rotary separator is finer than that by ordinary coal mill. The actual maximum emission concentrations of nitrogen oxides of the two units are 578. 1 mg/m3 and 588.4 mg/m3, which are 57.8%h and 58.8% of the national standards respectively.

Because of insisting on burning low-sulfur coal (sulfur content is only 0.33%), the actual maximum emission concentration of SO2 is 348 mg/m3 and 526 mg/m3, which are 16.6% and 25. 1% of the national standards respectively. The actual total emission of the two units is 768kg/h, which is 20% of the national standard.
