Xu Beihong's Yugong Yishan was written in the most difficult period in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression 1940. The author uses this story to express the determination of the people of China to carry out the war to the end. In the horizontal composition, the mountain pioneers are arranged horizontally from left to right, standing tall and naked, holding high the iron rake and digging.
As a national treasure oil painting, in the 65-year legend, overseas Chinese showed their love and sacrifice for art, and finally brought this national treasure back to the motherland. At the end of June, 2006, it set a world record for oil painting auction in China with 33 million yuan.
