If the drum brake makes abnormal noises such as mechanical impact when it is working, the main reason for these abnormalities is that there are problems in the installation of brake components, such as looseness, or the bearing ball of the front wheel is broken. At this time, it is necessary to stop as soon as possible for maintenance, re-fix brake parts and replace bearings and other accessories.
In addition, the disc brake will also have the problem of excessive braking noise. If it is the obvious metal scraping sound between the brake disc and the brake caliper, it may be that the rotating elements are improperly polished, or the machining accuracy is not high, and there are burrs on the brake caliper. Parts should be cleaned or replaced in time to reduce the probability of noise during braking of disc brakes.
Braking delay will lead to overheating of the brake disc, further reducing the braking efficiency, increasing the wear of various components, increasing the fuel consumption and bursting the brake disc. The main reasons for overheating of the brake disc are insufficient free clearance of the brake pedal, poor oil return of the brake master cylinder, problems in adjusting the clearance of the brake shoe, aging of the surface of the brake hose, and easy seizure of the brake caliper.
The maintenance method of these faults is to readjust the push rod of the vacuum thruster, check whether there is air in the brake fluid, and if there is air, remove it. Also, disassemble and check the brake calipers, clean the clamping pins, then apply some grease, and readjust the gap between the two rear wheel brake drums according to the standard to prevent the brake disc from overheating and failing to function.
The aging and corrosion of brake hose are also common problems in the setting of automobile brake system, which are manifested in the rupture and oil leakage of brake hose, that is, the leakage phenomenon occurs at the joint between brake hose and pipeline, and the brake hose that has friction with suspension components is easy to be damaged and fail. Once the brake hose joint leaks, it is more likely to cause the braking distance of the automobile to gradually become longer, which will bury a great hidden danger of driving safety.
Therefore, the brake hose should be inspected and diagnosed regularly to determine whether there is any abnormality in the brake device. If the brake hose is found to have similar aging, cracking or corrosion problems during inspection with a flashlight, it is necessary to check the fasteners again to see if they are still useful, and then adjust or replace the brake hose. Generally speaking, the brake hose should be inspected in detail at least twice a year.
